A lot of mornings before work, I'll stop to get breakfast. I just read the paper, eat breakfast, and head on to work. A friend of mine thinks that's crazy that I'll go to a restaurant alone. She says she would be too embarrassed to eat by herself.
I've never thought anything of it. I see people eating alone all the time. Is this some sort of social faux pas I don't know of?

No, not at all. I do it regularly when I'm at school. For some reason my fellow students don't frequent the local taverns for good grub like I do on weekends.

I do it fairly often, but I also have friends who think it's crazy. They'll go to the drive thru and then sit in the parking lot and eat by themselves. (I don't see how that's any different. They aren't really invisible in the parking lot. :))

but for real, I dont like going to restaurants alone it just seems awkward and I feel rushed to eat.

I'll be driving to North Carolina tomorrow and I'll stop at the Bob Evans In Kanawha City, WV like usual and eat alone like usual. It just doesn't seem like a big deal to me.

There are people who can barely stand to be alone for five minutes. I like people and love a few, but I've very comfortable with my own company.

I don't go to restaurants alone, but I will go to the movies by myself....people say that makes me a loser.

lol for years I would never go to a movie by myself because I thought I would look like a loser but I started going by myself and have noticed plenty of others who do it.

I have Mondays off usually, so that's my day to run errands, etc...so I do tend to eat alone somewhere..I'll either sit at the bar area.. I generally will take the paper, magazine, latop etc..if I dont, then I feel really weird..

also, I have never, and will never watch a movie alone..Not sure why that's so much different for me than just eating somewhere..but it is.

I"ve eaten by myself quite a few times and don't have a problem with it. Can't say I've ever been to a movie by myself, unless porn sites count.

I've never watched a movie by myself, but have eaten out alone while on business or at a fast food restaurant, however I wouldn't make a habit out of it.

I do it alot on lunch breaks, but only at like arbys, mcdonalds or subway. would never go to a nice sit down restuarant alone.
