Ms. Bachmann has been in the news as being pro small government, reduction of the welfare state, anti health care bill, pro tea bagging movement, and calling out Obama for his "socializing America".

Turns out that she has collected over 250,000 from the government trough through farm subsidies.

Another "wealfare queen" from the right. Too funny.

I guess for Ms. Bachmann, Corporate welfare is A-OK...but welfare for the poor...well...that's just "redistributing the wealth".

The hypocrite from Minnesota should win an award for this one folks.

O.K.

I don't care about her or 99% of the others in any sort of power. I'd like to keep about 7 congressmen/women and ditch the rest.
We can start with Michele Bachman if you want.

I don't know why you think anybody would care to stick up for her, Footie...?

You would be lucky to find 7 that are not knee deep in this kind of BS. Foot just has a special hate for the right wing hypocrites.

I didn't read the article but how is that hypocritical? I disagree with food stamps but my cousin was on it while at college (didn't need it) and I thought it was hilarious that he was using the government because they were so dumb. Just because this person doesn't believe in handouts doesn't mean they should turn it down if handed to them. Get real.

I guess the question that should be asked is "Did she do anything illegal"? No? well then the point is moot.

Wedgie...You and I hate the Yankees and their ability and willingness to buy championships. Sure it's not 'fair', buy Yank fans retort that they are playing by the rules.
Don't hate the team...hate the system they say....and so it is here.
Hate the system. But don't expect an entity...person or corporation to disadvantage themselves.

Just because she has an 'R' by her name doesn't mean she is a 'free marketer'. In fact they are almost mutually exclusive.

I'm sure she's the only hypocrite in Congress from either party.

Very true observation. I used to be more right winged than WB, CCRunner, and Believer. So I do take it very personal. Definitely has ruined my real life personality too. :D

Buck...if you were to goodle this lady and understand how vociferous her pounding of anything that smells "socialist" or welfare statist, then you would understand my ire here.

She is far different than even most republicans. Far different.

This would be akin to Ron Paul being publicly exposed for collecting $245,000 in welfare payments.

If such a scenario would unfold, Dr. Paul would be attacked by about 100.000 original teabaggers. And I would be the first one with bat in hand....given that I sent Paul a hefty campaign check.

Well....she happens to be a very popular Senator from Minnesota....and unlike many Republicans, she is really outspoken on the social evils of welfare...which has appealed greatly to her constituancy.

She has been quoted as saying..."we are running out of rich people in this country"...due to Obama's "Marxist" policies.

As HitsRUs put it...she didn't violate any laws. And he is right...she didn't. But I can guarantee that nobody knew that this highly successful person, a multi millionnaire and all, never let it out that she had her hand out in the protectionist practice of American farm subsidies to the tune of a quarter million dollars.

If I make my living telling you that Subway sandwiches will kill you, your family, and turn us into the soviet bloc, and you see me eating at Subway and do not slay me. Then you are stupid.

Bachmann is actually a congresswoman.

I do agree with disliking her for being for one item of welfare and blast the rest as socialist as it is hypocritical. She is like most congressmen/women and that's why I reject both "major" parties.

I'll admit my right-wing tendencies and will wear it as a badge of honor. But as a libertarian convert can't you at least lend some credibility to your fence-riding political ideology by calling out a left-wing hypocrite from time-to-time? lol

Oh I know who she is, Footie.

But like I said, I don't care about her and wouldn't be traumatized to see her and actually about 99% of them go.
Good riddance to bad rubbish!

I have no personal feelings toward any of them. Right now, I'm barely holding on the the allegiance I've had with the democratic party that I've had all my life. Therefore, I most certainly don't hold my breath for the republicans if I can't feel much for my own party.

Never liked her and thought she was a little batty. The whole indoctrination camp thing a few months ago was just awfully funny.

She is one of the worst of the hypocrites of either side. I hope she goes down at the next election.

As someone, who is still reluctantly registered as a Republican, Bachman is a perfect example of why the Republicans have no power whatsoever right now.

You stand on your soapbox preaching small government, personal responsibility and free market economics. Yet, you take the big-government, socialist bail-out checks that are offered to you. I, for one, on the basis of principle alone, refuse to take any sort of government hand-out regarless of the amount. I expect the same from the people who I back in my party.

When the Republican party was most recently at its strongest it stood for three things: strong defense, reducing the size of the federal government and reducing taxes. Now, we stand for...well, can anyone actually tell me what we stand for. It is sad how far we have fallen in just 21 short years. We need a new Reagan...JC Watts anyone?

Believer...to be honest about it....I cannot stand the true whiny liberals at all. I cannot stand Nancy Pelosi....and I could not stand Ted Kennedy for a lot of reasons. I used to hate Robert KKK Byrd as well...although his transformation in being anti racist has softened my stance towards him somewhat..
