Same. Digital antenna. Every once in a while when the weather is bad it gets choppy as hell, though.dlazz;1414031 wrote:I don't have satellite or cable.

Have not looked into this enough. Sounds interesting.justincredible;1414034 wrote:Digital antenna..
Wonder how well it would work in St Paris compared to a large city.

This seems to indicate it'll work fairly well, though I'm sure your mileage will vary.said_aouita;1414047 wrote:

My DirecTV was searching for a signal all night last night.
Luckily, I had Netflix...and the signal came back on so that the DVR could record the 3am showing of Walking Dead.

Technically a Coat Hanger is a "digital antenna" as long as your tuner is directly installed already in your plasma.said_aouita;1414047 wrote:Have not looked into this enough. Sounds interesting.

Same here. Once it went out in a really bad thunderstorm but that's it.

this was happening to me until i kept calling until someone came out a few months ago. he replaced some part he said that was defective in dishes installed in a certain time period. havent had an issue since. he said that whenever it gets wet or rains water leaks in and you dish will not work for a while. i assumed that the snow was blocking the signal, he said that snow/storm should not interfere with your tv veiwing.

Mine was snow. I just had to go up and brush it off. Luckily it was in an easy spot to get to.Gblock;1414089 wrote:this was happening to me until i kept calling until someone came out a few months ago. he replaced some part he said that was defective in dishes installed in a certain time period. havent had an issue since. he said that whenever it gets wet or rains water leaks in and you dish will not work for a while. i assumed that the snow was blocking the signal, he said that snow/storm should not interfere with your tv veiwing.

My dish sits low enough that I can keep it coated with Rain-X. I never lose signal, even in snow/thundersorms.

Same. Usually when I get the "searching...." it happens shortly after sun rise when the melting begins.ccrunner609;1414219 wrote:my dish network did that for about 15 minutes this morning but nothing last night when it was snowing.
I really had connection problems during the ice storm a few years ago. A hair dryer and about a five foot piece of pvc tubing on the end worked awesome.
