The wife and I where watching America Idol or now Idiot ….. Beatles Night should be good..right. Big fan of the Beatles
As we where watching, it became petty obvious that not one of the Black contestants knew any of the Beatles songs… WTH up with that? Classic stuff
I would have to say that some did a great job sing the song they picked…

I get the Beatles significance but I just am not a fan. I know their songs but wouldn't go out of my way to listen to them.

Love the Beatles, but I feel like the White Album is way overrated. Sure it is eclectic, and there are some great songs (mentioned above) but there are several songs I skip right away and I don't do that with any of their other albums. I can't stand Revolution #9. I'm guessing that was Yoko's idea.

The Beatles are overrated. I can name a song, but there's nothing special about their music.

There might be three bands that formed post 2000 that I would listen to over the Beatles and I really don't like them that much.

I apologize in advance for being old, but the Beatles changed the course of music forever. They started out a cutesy "boy band" but in the later years they experimented with so many different musical ideas (and some pharmaceuticals) that were unheard of at the time. I guess in hindsite I can see where the younger generations are like "meh", but they were so important in musical history that they shouldn't be discounted.

Read up on the history of the Beatles, their early days in Liverpool and in Hamburg. They were a rough and tumble group. They had nothing in common with what you'd call a staged boy band. I always found it ironic that the Rolling Stones were cast as the bad boys when in fact they suburban guys. In contrast, the Beatles were from the working streets of Liverpool and played in more seedy joints over the years 1958-1962 than the Stones even knew existed.

Paul McCartney was Dave Grohl before Dave Grohl. I saw McCartney in '02, amazing concert. Big theatrical show, killer pyro, and music that rocked.
The Beatles changed the world. Watch Paul McCartney "Live in Red Square" if you don't believe it.

Yeah, I always thought that was funny. The producers essentially made the rough band nice and the nice band rough.Dr Winston O'Boogie;1415652 wrote:Read up on the history of the Beatles, their early days in Liverpool and in Hamburg. Keith Richards approved, though, so everything worked out great!
