How many contact wearers we have here? Glasses? I've never had to deal with either, and today I had an optometrist visit (another thread), and I was in dire need of contacts. Don't care for them, but it's only one day.
My question... Is it normal for the contacts to feel uncomfortable the first day, and to want to take them out early? Is it normal for your eyes to hurt and feel irritated? Is it normal to get hepatitis C & B from an eye exam? Is it normal to get an erection while petting my cat?

Also I wear contacts and don't feel discomfort unless I put one in backwards.

I wear "Dailies" only for officiating and other athletic activities. No problems. Good luck with the MRI.

So it would be reasonable to assume you weren't experienced (read: smart) enough to put them in correctly. There is no discomfort unless I put them in backward, and I suppose if I sleep in them. Other than that, first day or not I don't have any issues.

I'm close to turning this thread into a Karen Lotz hate fest. Lotz, you're worse than cancer.

20/20...but I imagine I'll get my dad's eyes when I get older -- bifocals are in my future.

To answer your question, yes. It is normal for them to be uncomfortable.
Also, do the optometrist's sister. Maybe upper-deck him as well, if the opportunity presents itself.

I wear glasses, not contacts. Dog got my glasses the other day. Teeth marks in lenses. Eye appointment Friday for new ones.
Hope...helps.

I have contacts, best thing ever. I keep mine in for months at a time, I don't fuck around with the taking em in and out every night. My doc says that is perfectly fine.

Had Lasik. Worked like a charm for 10 years and then my sight regressed again. Back in glasses. Have read that the Lasik can start to slip once you hit age 40.
