who the best player in the world is.
Since breaking his index finger on his SHOOTING hand he has averaged 32.0ppg,6.0 rpg, 4.5 apg and shot 48% from the field.
Oh and has led his team to the best record in the NBA.

Most players would take a week off with just a sprained pinky finger but not Kobe.

Soon to be the best ever!!!!!! and you can take that to the bank.......

I always like getting into this debate.
I do agree that Kobe is the best scorer and probably the best clutch player in the game.
However, being the best player is so much more than scoring.
Lebron and Kobe's team both have pretty comparable records.
Lebron averages 28.7ppg. Kobe averages 29.3ppg.
Lebron averages 6.8rpg. According to ESPN, Kobe averages 5.6.
Lebron averages 7.8apg. According to ESPN, Bryant averages 4.2.
James shoots .502%. Bryants shoots .488%
James has 1.34 steals per game. Bryant has 2.19
James averages 0.83 blocks per game. Bryant averages 0.26....
James has a 2.08 assist/turnover ratio. Bryants ratio is 1.36/1
James has 8 double doubles. Bryant isnt listed on the double double page because he doesnt even have 4.

So out of all of those stats. Lebron is ahead of Kobe on 6/8 of the categories. There is no debate on who the better player is.

21-8 playing in the East is comparable to 23-4 playing in the West?????????

Do you not understand that Kobe plays in a triangle offense and many people touch the ball as opposed to the Lebron offense?

Cowherd discussed this briefly today. He said that Kobe is the best player in the NBA, but if he were starting a team today, he'd have Lebron.

He said when watching NBA games with ex NBA players, many are in awe of Lebron's physical abilities. And those same guys are in awe of Kobe's "game".

The thing with Kobe is that he's not more athletic, stronger, faster or bigger than others at his position like Lebron is. He's just smarter and better.

:)thats all u got to come back with? The teams from the Eastern Conference do play teams in the Western Conference as does the other. The top East teams would be seeded 2,3,4,5 in the west. What happened in 04,05, and 06 when Kobe did not have a very good supporting cast around him(including a star big man). 34-48.45-37. 42-40. Lebron took his team to the Finals with a supporting cast that included players like Drew Gooden and Larry Hughes.

The Cavs run primarily a half-court offense and do not push the ball a whole lot. So many people touch the ball there, too. Lebron doesnt need to score 81 to have his team win. He does other things like rebound, pass the ball, and play defense. The stats do not lie Like I said Kobe is the best scorer and clutch player in the league. But that doesnt mean he is the best player.

The East is 63-90 against the West this year. The Lakers have 5 players who average 3 or more assists a game with Kobe leading the way.
The Cavs have 3 players with 3 or more assists a game.
Kobe has taken his team to the Playoffs every year except 1 since Shaq left and has been to the Finals twice and winning it once. How many years has Lebron missed the Playoffs and won the Championship or even won a Finals game????
and don't give me he hasn't had the supporting cast. Because they had the best record in the NBA last year.

It's a fracture, not a break. No way he is able to play w/ a broken finger.

Who do you think is better between Z and Gasol?
Who you think is better between West and Fisher?
Who do you think played better betwen Ariza and Williams in the playoffs?
Hell Bynum and Odom are both better overall players than Varejao.
I think its clear who had the better supporting cast last year.

KObe is the best scorer in the league. Lebron is the best complete player.

The if I were to start a team today argument is stupid because everyone would take Lebron over Kobe because he is younger.

There are different types of fractures. Hairline, compound, greenstick.

I dont buy the younger argument. You play for now, not the future.

Are we talking about basketball here or raping women in Colorado? Because I'm pretty sure Kobe leaves no doubt who's the best in the world at that.

I fractured my thumb my junior year in college. Played with a sore thumb for two games and then was fine after a week. It's not really that big of a deal.

As for the supporting cast, the Cavs have nowhere near the supporting cast as the Lakers. And it is a credit to Lebron that the Cavs had the best record in the NBA last year, not his supporting cast.

I still think Kobe is the best player in the NBA, but if I'm starting a team right now, I'm taking LeBron and it's not even close.
