Kirt Rockel passed away a few days ago. He had been fighting cancer for the past year and we will all miss him. Kirt was instrumental in supporting and developing wrestling officials throughout his career and was part of the foundation of the OWOA, Dayton and Cincinnati Wrestling Officials Association. KIRT W. ROCKEL - Loving father of Catherine Rockel, Kirsten Maxwell, Chrisa (Jack) Combs and Kirt C. (Teresa) Rockel. Devoted grandfather of Jess and Ethan Lingerfelt, Amber Grace, Austin Cutler, Stephaine Cook, Marcus Bachelier, Randi Broerman, Shawna Davis, and Destiny Rockel. Beloved great-grandfather of Blaze, Laniah, Matthew, Jr., Sarah, and baby Cranmo. Cherished brother of Laurene Range. Adored friend of Jack Meyer. Also survived by his extended family Jeff Maxwell, Millie Maxwell, Linda, Sherry, Debbie and the late Karen. Kirt passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the age of 80. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service 1:00 p.m. at the Gwen Mooney Funeral Home, (513-853-1035); Entombment Spring Grove Cemetery.
