Any recommendations on good places to eat? I prefer local and not the chain restaurants.

The best place to go is a pizza/Italian joint called Papa Dels. I hit it up every time I'm there. Deep dish/Chicago style pizza that actually competes with real "Chicago" Style Pizza.

If you want just a quick, local dive; there is a great sandwich place called Fat Sandwich Company. Don't wear Buckeyes stuff in there though. It's a U of I place.

While you're there make sure you drive past Memorial Stadium. The beauty of it is far underrated (mostly because it's unknown because we suck at football).

The lobster bisque at their Applebees is to die for!
