What is your favorite Christmas carol (religious) and favorite Christmas song (non-religious)?
My favorite carol is God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen and my favorite song is The Christmas Song.

Even after all these years it's hard to beat anything by Bing Crosby when it comes to Christmas songs.

I guess my favorite carol is Silent Night because it's the carol we light our candles to while we sing it on Christmas Eve. It's the last thing we do during the Christmas Eve service and it's always held a special place for me. As far as my favorite Christmas song is concerned, it would have to be Nat King Cole's Christmas Song.

I think every church does it. If your church does a candle light Christmas Eve service, then they will light the candles while singing Silent Night. I think it's a law.darbypitcher22 wrote: ^^^^

O Holy Night...hands down.
I like other more jolly songs though too...especially when listening with the kids. Some of the best is on the soundtracks for the movies "Home Alone" and "Elf."

AHHHHHHHHHHH! In keeping with the "Worst Holiday Song Ever" thread, Christmas Shoes is my #1 and I'd have to give Mary, Did You Know the #3 ranking. I've heard 72 versions of it and I just don't care for any of them. Sorry iclfan2.iclfan2 wrote: My favorite is easily "Mary did you know".

As for this thread, favorite traditional carol would probably be David Bowie/Bing Crosby's Little Drummer Boy duet. Non religious would have to be Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas.

Another vote for Jack Johnson's Rudolph.
Also love Run Run Rudolph by Chuck Berry and Happy Christmas (War Is Over) by John Lennon.
