Stopped into Jolly Pirates to get some doughnuts for my work team on the way into the office. When I get to the counter he informs me that I can pick out a dozen and a milk courtesy of the lady in front of me. I tell him ok but let me get the next person a dozen and a milk. He told me I was actually the 4th person to continue it this morning and it was started by a local high schooler. I love this kinda stuff and think it needs to happen more often. Tonight at the grocery store I saw a kid asking his mom for a pack of football cards and she told him they couldn't afford it but maybe for his birthday in a few months. ( the family wasn't dressed very nice and I could tell she geninuly couldn't afford the cards) so thinking back to earlier in the day I bought the kid an entire box of the football cards and took it to him in the parking lot. His smile was worth every penny and his mom looked like she wanted to cry.


I'm glad I'm in a place where I can do some random acts of kindness and I challenege everyone who can to do something nice for someone to pass it on tomorrow and post your stories. Help me restore some of my faith in people. I know tomorrow as my part of the challenge I am going to buy my gas and then whoever else's who is closest to me who hasn't paid already will get their car filled up courtesy of me.

A few months ago I was in line at a local discount grocery store. An older lady in front of me was short enough money to pay and was struggling to decide what to remove form her order. I passed the cashier a ten and asked if that would cover it. Hard to get that much satisfaction from anything else you'd throw ten bucks at!

Our church as a "You've been gifted" program where members will buy or pay for stuff randomly, like meals, grocery, gas for people we think are in need or just to be nice. Everything is done as much as possible without the individual knowing. We do have a small business card that explains that is was done by a program of the church and welcome them to visit. </SPAN>

I carry a $25.00 gift card just for doing this deed. </SPAN>

Few weeks ago I stopped into get my early morning standard coffee and donut. The lady in front of me turned an ask if that was my truck. I said yes and she then said &#8230; coffee and donut on me today Vet.</SPAN>
I was a little shocked but as she turned to go I said, thank you and gave her a hug. She started to cry&#8230; </SPAN>

Every time it snows I go across the street and shovel out my elderly lady neighbor. Think I'm going to need Advil this time.

I do this, as well as mow their grass in the summer time.

So far today, I taught a chick I have the hots for how to download music for free. So that doesn't really count. Ill try to step my game up, OC.

I do always try to stop on the road and help women put the spare on when they have a flat. Not guys, because I expect them to know how to do it. Actually I think everybody should know how to do it, but that isn't the reality.

I was on my way home from work one day, about 3 years after graduating college. Saw a group of people all dressed up with a flat trying to change it. I turned around since I was already dirty and muddy from work. Just happened to have been wearing a shirt with my schools name on it, so they asked me if I went there. Turned out to be the family of my college roommate. They were on there way to a hospital in Columbus from Athens because him and his wife were having a child. I know, cool story bro.

I almost always stop for people who are having car trouble. (My wife freaks out, so I don't stop if she's with me.)

I occasionally randomly tip almost 100% on my bill if I go out and eat with friends. I had a $11 bill the other day and I tipped $9 so it came out to an even $20. That's about as close as I get to being kind.

I've done this before. Nothing outrageous, like a $30 or $40 bill or anything. But $10 or so, I've done it.

As far as helping someone on the side of the road, no thanks. You never know who the person might be.

I have a friend who likes to do stuff like this. He'll sometimes ask the waiter/waitress what his/her biggest tip ever was, and he'll tip more. He likes to see their reaction.
