I unapproved and am going to give him an infraction. He couldve had one yesterday also. It will ban him to the basement though, so if Justin wants to fix the length he can (it says it will be forever).

Quick question:
Is that really infraction-worthy, considering it was essentially one non-profane insult, followed by a profane one?
It'd be one thing if it was a "thavoice is wrong"; "really, you're a fucking asshole!" --- but here it's a "you're a joke"; "you're a fucking asshole" back-and-forth.
Just my opinion. No big deal, but to me it's like the sports deal where the instigator gets away and the guy who retaliates gets the technical/flag/whatever.

I guess a warning would suffice. I'm just not as lineint when the guy has 2 active infractions, 1 active warning and we unapproved I think 2 posts of his just YESTERDAY. He is a good poster when you arent on his "enemy" list. But he crosses the line too much, imo, with his enemies.Heretic;1397849 wrote:Quick question:

Basically, standing alone for another poster this just gets unapproved. But this seemed more appropriate, given his history, and yesterday.
But like I said, Justin can reverse or limit the ban.

Also of note. I was going to just thread ban, but its the NFL 2013 thread. I think he would rather a week ban with access to that thread than no ban and be banned for the main NFL thread till next year...

Yeah, I think sometimes, I feel this sort of pity for thavoice. Part because of how he apparently has the sort of home life/marriage that would make Al Bundy feel great about his life! And part because he doesn't seem to have any sort of clue as to younger people and eSarcasm, so he gets all huffy when confronted by it.

I agree generally with this reasoning.Heretic;1397849 wrote:Quick question:

It did seem like 1 personal attack followed by 1 profane personal attack.
But there have been instances lately where Thavoice has been given then benefit of the doubt and not given infractions, so him getting 1 for this is reasonable since he could have had others for similar behavior.

I'm admittedly biased here, as S&L has joined the CoA/l_t douche pack and generally feel like he provoked any shit coming his way.

Sorry for checking in so late. I agree with the consensus here. I think unapproving it was enough since it was provoked.

So apparently he is still permanently banned. Should this be reviewed just because he's not nearly the same level as Society or even some others.
You mentioned unapproving it would be enough. Would you want one of us to go ahead and change the status of his account?

Send him a PM as well. He has created a 2nd name, so we should get him onto his original. He did 5 days in the hole...seems enough for a poster like him who doesnt seek out problems, but doesnt know how to handle issues well.justincredible;1401357 wrote:Oh, yeah, I can let him out of the basement.
