So is it just me or does Firefox totally suck now? Doesn't remember half my logins to sites, and constantly asking me whether to "allow" stuff (can't seem to fix that).

I know, I'm WAAAAYYYYYY behind. But when I tried Chrome a year or so ago it sucked worse.

I was using Firefox as well, and I wasn't a fan of Chrome either until I found out about the YouTube Ad block. Then I gave it a chance. For the most part I like it. Still some things I don't like.

I'm going to give it a second look. I think some of the things I didn't like history and privacy settings, which I'd guess have been addressed at this point (of course, never know with how Google wants to track everything). I really can't tolerate Firefox any more. My options are pretty much limited to IE, Firefox and Chrome because I like to use CCleaner and Lastpass.

While we are on the subject of Mozilla, Thunderbird's calendar is causing me headaches, too, with syncing.

Bookmarks Menu - How's this any different than the standard bookmarks menu? Or is it the same thing?
History Eraser - Clears visited sites, or something?
Torrent Turbo Search - ???
Help please?

Also... which AdBlock are people referring to? I see there are several...

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search-extensions/adblock%20for%20youtube?hl=en-US
  • AdBlock (from chromeadblock.com)
  • Adblock for Youtube (from Adblock Team)
  • Adblock Plus (adblockplus.org)
  • Simple Adblock (from wips.com)

Looks to me like history eraser does many of the same things as CCleaner. Neither are perfect, IMO, because I don't want to manually click to run - I want it to clear all that shit when I close my browser (which is why I've stuck with Mozilla). I'll have to figure out how and if Chrome can do that now (since they have an extension for it, perhaps not).

As for Adblock, I went with Adblock Plus as it appears to also handle YouTube.

I welcome people to correct me.

Sports app. Keeps you updated with games in progess that you want to know about.

With Chrome you have to click on the menu, then scroll down to bookmarks. That just puts a bookmark button right up top.

Gut nailed the history eraser.

Torrent search does as it says. Searches for torrents.

Do you guys know how to edit the layout of the header/toolbar? I'd like to move the location of the home button.

I found a "No History" extension that prevents visited sites from being saved all together (no need to delete now). But damn those cookies! You can check "reject all cookies", but then some websites logins don't play nice with Lastpass and I wish I could figure out how to create the exceptions to stay logged in - WSJ is pissing me off.

Haha...actually I just don't like traces of any sites I've visited (especially banking sites). It may be overkill and paranoid, but cookies don't really do anything for me so why have them? Plus, I prefer not being tracked.

Ctrl+Shift+N gets you an incognito window for Chrome - doesn't that work to block all cookies?

Yeah, and I read where you can configure it to be the default mode. Don't think that will solve my issue with a few sites I want it to remember my login.

I just want cookies cleared automatically when I close my browser. That's one of the reasons I stuck with Firefox. Maybe not a big deal - I created a non-admin account for work and guests some time ago.

Alternatively you can just configure CCleaner to do all this junk after you boot your PC. But I frequently just put it to sleep and don't restart.

I think the solution is to figure out the exceptions for those few sites I need and then block all other cookies.

Thanks I will check that out! Didn't realize it had an option for all that when closing the browser.

Just use incongnito mode. No extensions necessary.

I'm not at my computer right now, but I think you can move it.

I use Chrome currently, but I switch between Firefox and Chrome pretty often.

Adblock on Firefox is superior

Anyway, it seems like my ire over WSJ logging me out after I close my browser may have nothing to do with the browser. I'm hating on them - can't stay logged in, and lastpass won't auto-log you in either.

Otherwise, I'm liking Chrome quite a bit. If I could figure out that annoying little security thing with Firefox it would probably be fine. But chrome is a bit quicker.
