So I just started watching Arrested Development because I remembered all of the praise it received on here. I thought it was a pure comedy? I just finished the first show and I didn't find one thing funny. Am I missing something or should I keep watching?

Awesome show. I'm definitely going to rewatch before the new season starts.

It normally takes a few episodes to get into it. Either that or you are not smart enough to understand the humor. Good luck!

Exactly on the first part.

I wasn't too big of a fan of the first episode myself the first time, but I kept going through the insistence of a friend. The series definitely builds upon itself a lot, and I find that the first episode is a lot more funny the second time you watch it. After watching the whole series through, it allows the the running gags to be evident in the pliot.

Ha well I'm definitely smart enough. It's just not funny to me so far. Just my opinion. I'll give it a few more episodes.

I can't put Arrested Development at 2 yet but I do enjoy it much more now. (Ninth episode) What a messed up family. Ha

It appears that I prematurely shot my wad...on what was supposed to be a dry run. And now I got a bit of a mess on my hands.

I suggest Shameless if you want a messed up family.

I definitely just needed a few episodes to get into it. The first 2 were just eh but the third was solid and from there on it's been entertaining.

I always loved the whole "don't call it that" joke about calling Orange County "the OC." I always want to make it anytime I see that abbreviation used for this site.
