Looking to take family to Disney this fall. 2 kids will be also 7 and 4.

Anyone have tips or suggestions on how to get the best deals? Google has way too many to go through so just checking if anyone here has any recent trips and paid little.

We did the cruise it was wonderful two years after that we did the trip, stayed at Frontier Land.

We are Disney Vacation club members....and we've found "All Ears.net" a great site for anything Disney related. On the site they usually have promotions that Disney is currently running.

As we run down to Orlando a few times a year, we've noticed that flying on Tuesdays/Wednesdays usually will net you significant savings on air fare.

This is a little off what you are asking (saving money) but let me suggest at the end to spend a little more and get the park hopper option.

To really get your best "deal" at Disney you need to maximize the time you can spend in the parks. Having ParkHopper tickets and staying on site really helps you do that. We've been there many times over the past 25 years. Early trips we stayed at hotels on International Dr but the later trips we were in Disney hotels.

If you are flying down and stay on site you don't even need to rent a car - you can arrange for Disney Express to pick you up at the airport and drop you off at the end of your stay.

Transportation from the Disney properties to the parks(mostly buses) is a more efficient use of your time and you don't have daily parking fees. It's easy, especially with young kids, to run back to you hotel for a rest in the middle of the day - then back at it in the PM. Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Hollywood Studios all have "not to be missed" programs at closing time.

I like Animal Kingdom but I'd be hard pressed to spend a whole day there. With ParkHoppers you can do it in the AM then on to another park later. To do that with the regular tickets will use TWO day passes to get into two parks in the same day - now that is expensive.

Before you go start another thread and ask the seasoned Disney travelers for their likes/dislikes - dos/don't etc.

spot on. Disney's Magical express is a hassle free way of going to WDW. Book at a Disney resort, and you can get the Express. You check your bags at the airport as usual and the bags will be sent straight to your room. When you get off the plane, you just walk down to the Disney counter, and you'll get on a bus that will take you directly to your resort. On the way home, you check your bags at the resort, and they will be booked straight to your final denstination airport You don'thave to worry about luggage or driving. There is no additional charge for this service.
