I've seen quite a few over the years.............the most recent that caught my attention was in the book, Born to Run.

"Make friends with pain and you will never be lonely."

The truth is, you can always run faster. But sometimes, the truth hurts.

I like your quote, "thriller" and it reminded me of another quote that seems appropriate here. I don't know who said it but I've always ascribed to it. "The truth will set you free". it works in running and in just about every other life challenge that you might "run" into.

I'm liking thriller's quote, not sure if I've heard that one before. May have to put that one a t-shirt next fall!

Two of my favorites:
"For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack." ~Rudyard Kipling from The Law of the Jungle

"Some will say you shouldn't expect to drop as much time as you did last year... but I passed those people awhile ago." ~Christian Edens

Most sports take one ball. Cross country takes both.

Runners have balls...Every other athlete just plays with them.

Running. The reason I drink... water.

Life is short... running makes it seem longer

Most men take the straight and narrow. A few take the road less traveled. I chose to cut through the woods.

Cross country. Finally a good use for golf courses

Someone with "Running With The Buffaloes" if willing, please look up the quote Coach Wetmore tells his team during the preseason camp.
(something like) "I don't have hobbies. When I go to sleep at night, I dream of ways to make you faster"

Another quote in that book is Wetmore making the comment he wants his team to be like Clint Eastwood. When they go to town.....etc. Doing the talking with their feet.

Unfortunately my book has disappeared. I'm accusing GORUN. He probably (really) didn't take it, but I'm blaming him anyways.
