What movies did you really enjoy when it came out, thought was magnificent, but now you wouldnt give the time of day?

I would have to go with Jurassic Park. I remember when it came out that movie was H U G E. Was destined to be one of the best ever, but now it is just a forgotten movie and if its on TV just doesnt get me to watch even a minute.

I think the initial breakthrough in technology is what wowed everyone. Hadnt really seen stuff like that before, but not we are not in awe of it much.

Good ones.

For some reason I enjoyed the newest Red Dawn. When had heard it was coming out I thought it would bring up an interesting parallel to todays wars....what one side calls terrorists the others call freedome fighters/heroes and such. Was glad they brought that up in the movie

Not a fan of Star Wars, either.

This is the exact opposite of the question posed by the OP.

I know two people (both girls oddly enough) that watch Jurassic Park EVERY time it's on TV. One happens to be my girlfriend unfortunately...

And Forrest Gump is definitely a movie that still has great replay value in my opinion.

Independence Day. Was a great movie originally, just watching now is painful.

BOOO THIS MAN!

I've watched it twice in the past month. I get chills every time he yells freedom at the end.

Almost all the superhero movies (probably save Superman). The first Batman with Nicholson as the Joker might have survived, but then they went and made a bunch of shitty sequels/prequels (yeah, a few were good).

You cray. The first Batman is terrible. It was awesome at the time, but it doesn't hold up at all. Have you tried to watch it in the last 10 years? Awful.

And BTTF 1 & 2 still holds up.
