Does this mean Damon will come back to NY?

Meh, okay deal for the Yankees I guess. I kept hearing the ESPN guys say this morning how it's huge because he's coming off a career year in Atlanta. Exactly, the Atlanta Braves, the National League, the minor league for the American League. He'll be fine as a back of the rotation guy though for the Yanks.

Wasn't he like 14-10? Not bad and the rotation then wasn't nearly as powerful as it is now--won't expect as much from him now. He is coming off a career year too. Either way you look at it, it's a great deal for the Yankees.

Yeah he was 14-10 but absolutely brutal in September and October when it counts in New York...

All I remember about Vazquez's stint in NY last time was that him and Esteban Loaiza were the prominent pitchers used during the 22-0 Indians win.

I like this move a bit actually. Gives them a solid #4 starter, and opens the door to re-sign Damon, or bring in another corner outfielder.

Hopefully Vazquez doesn't bust like he did last time.

Not bad at all IMO. He was 15-10 last year with a 2.87 ERA. Thrown over 200 inning 4 of the last 5 years the only one he didn't he got to 198. Like said before good inning eater at the end of the rotation.

If we got rid of Melky to get Jason Bay I'll be happy.

don't really want Jason Bay.

I'd rather resign Damon than Bay....

And if we get 14-10 from Vazquez again, I'll be happy.

you figure you get 15 a piece(hopefully 20) from the Big 3 and then 15 a piece from Joba and Vasquez that's 90 right there....

I'm with the others. I don't really want Bay either. There are questions about his shoulder.

He's good until you get him in a big game...

I'm not sure we can count on Joba for 15 wins though, considering all the babying of him we do throughout the year with his innings count and junk... hopefully Boone Logan can be a 2nd lefty to Damaso Marte out of the bullpen... I was real high on Phil Coke

I dont like the move at all. Vazquez gives up more HRs than a company softball pitcher. In the bandbox that is Yankee Stadium he is gonna have a pretty brutal ERA imo.

This is also true.
