Good for him. Hopefully he lives up to it. I'm expecting great years from both him and Tiger.
ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates -- Nike says it has signed a multi-year sponsorship deal with No. 1-ranked Rory McIlroy for a reported $200 million."I chose Nike for a number of reasons," McIlroy said. "It's a company and a brand that really resonates with me. It's young. It's athletic. It's innovative. They are committed to being the best, as am I. Signing with Nike is another step towards living out my dream."
The deal was announced in a lavish ceremony in the United Arab Emirates ahead of the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, which begins this week.
Nike now represents golf's two biggest stars in McIlroy and Tiger Woods, who has been with the sportswear company since turning pro in 1996.
In October, McIlroy cut ties with Acushnet Co., which had supplied him with Titleist and FootJoy gear since he turned pro five years ago. And this month, Jumeirah Group announced it was not renewing its five-year sponsorship deal with the Northern Irishman.

It won't be close to the $200mil that was reported.
He will be paid handsomely to go with the Swoosh, although a source said it is significantly less than the $200 million that has been widely reported for months as news of McIlroy's association with the company was not a secret for long. Nike officials announced no terms at the swank Fairmont hotel. A source said the deal is for five years, but it does not include Nike on the golf bag. Starting with this week's Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, all 14 of McIlroy's clubs will bear the Nike logo.

Indeed. I was watching TV a couple nights ago and she was looking damn good in her match against some no-name. First time I watched tennis in a long time. Might have to watch more.gerb131;1365856 wrote:I'd trade it for a night with Wozniacki.
