Hey Guys...

I'm taking my sister to NYC this summer for her HS graduation and I was wondering, can she use her temporary driving permit as the photo ID required for security check-in?

I'd visit the TSA website and verify it's acceptable.

She's a minor, correct? If so they don't need photo ID.

I know its gibby, but christ can't we be at least a little helpful? If she's a minor i font think you need one. If she's a hs senior, why doesn't she have a driver's license?

We live within eyesight of her school so she wlks most days.....plus never has really had any ambition to get it

Shell be 18 when we go....from the wording on the TSA site it looks like as long as its a govt issued phtot ID of any kind its works. Would I be correct in thinking that

"Adult passengers (18 and over) are required to show a U.S. federal or state-issued photo ID in order to be allowed to go through the checkpoint and onto their flight."

I'd say that's correct.

She should be ok with a permit, even if she doesn't have ID most likely they won't keep her from flying but it will be a HUGH PITA, but it would take a lot longer to get her through security.
