What is everyone paying? The base price here is $65 and its going up in a few months to 75. Just curious what some of you pay in the smaller towns.

Ouch. OUr trash pick up is done differently. Ya buy incredibley outrageous priced special trash bags at the grocery for the company ti pick up. Guess it is better since ya only pay for what ya actually use instead of a flat rate.

As comparison - in the NW suburbs of Columbus, I pay about $200 a quarter - $300-$325 if I water the lawn in the summer (even with the meter that takes water from the outside spigot off the sewer/stormwater calculation).

No direct charges for trash, yard waste, and recyling pickup.

We pay around 150/qtr for water/sewer. Highest was around 300 when we were watering regularly.

Our sewer rates are typically about double of our water. Ours is around $55-$60 month....sewer only. Water + sewer between $80-90......mix in trash $94-$104 a month.

In Ohio, do they need PUCO approval or can they raise them unilaterally? Water prices are typically cost-based, so the increase likely reflects a regular increase in the cost of doing business.

They just put in a new water tower a few years ago. They raised them from 45 i think to 65 to pay the balance of what grants didnt pay. Now they want to raise them again to pay for repairs to town water lines. The problem is the 65 was only suppose to be for two years and now they are raising it to 75 this year and then 90 next year. This is for water and sewage usage combined. I am guessing they dont have to have the PUCO approval cause nothing was said about it.

What town? If I have time tomorrow, I can do a quick check to see whether anything has been filed. I'm a utility lawyer and represent utilities in their rate cases before state utility commissions.

Yes they did file I just checked with my sister. Its mechanicsburg ohio I am just concerned for the prices cause my sister is a single mother who owns her house and any increase puts a strain on her.
