How sad not be reported everywhere yet. The way he played you knew he loved the game. I bet people talk about his head injuries causing this.

It's sad...for those who truly loved him. I have a hard time being "sad" for someone who takes their own life, regardless of how much I admired the guy on the field...

He always talked about having a voice in his head (Farney) and he would talk to himself but admitted he was always talking to Farney. Farney would tell him nice catch, great play etc.

Very sad for his family and loved ones. It's a shame he couldn't get help(or at least he right help).

It is a terribly sad event when anyone takes their own life, and devastating to those around them.

Invaritably, when something like this happens, there are a number of people and posts on here that will disparage that person as being cowardly, or weak, and refuse to empathize/sympathize with the situation. One thing that the Newton, CT shootings should teach us is the prevalence of, and the necessity to be able to identify and get treatment for those suffering from mental illness and depression. Unfortunately, this is a disease that those afllicted with, and the families of those afflicted with try to keep hidden...until it's to late.:(

Seriously? And nobody took this as a sign that he needs help?

Sadly, I suppose not. Professional athletes are for the most part the most macho people around and probably just laughed at him and never thought a minute about it. You knew he was a little crazy by the way he played.
