With two weeks to go, who do you think wins the MVP? IMO there are only five guys that have a legitimate shot:
Adrian Peterson: 1,812 rushing yards, 211 receiving yards, 11 TD
Peyton Manning: 4,016 passing yards, 31 TD, 10 INT, 103.5 rating
Tom Brady: 4,276 passing yards, 30 TD, 6 INT, 100.1 rating
Aaron Rodgers: 3,588 passing yards, 32 TD, 8 INT, 104.7 rating
JJ Watt: 74 tackles, 19.5 sacks, 15 passes defended, 3 forced fumbles
I think it's Brady's right now, but if AD gets close to (or breaks) Dickerson's record it will go to him.

Peyton is going to win it, but AP is unreal right now. It was about this time last year he tore his ACL, and now he has a shot to break the single season rushing record within that same 12 month span. We have never seen anything like this.
Peyton has had a great comeback as well, but that team got to the playoffs last year and won a game with Tim Tebow at QB.
Now that they have a real QB it should surprise no one they have taken the next step if they accomplished all they did with the worst starting QB in NFL history.
Considering how God awful Ponder is, it should be AP for MVP and comeback player of the year.
They would struggle to be a 3 win team without him.

Really tough choice, lot of great options. I went AP, but I think that's just because he's the headline this week. If he gets Dickerson's record I'll say AP. Love for Watt to get it as well. Really tough.

It's AP, Peyton or Brady. I think it'll go to AP.

WHen AP said he was aiming for the record before sunday I thought it was a pipe dream, but now after sunday it is within reach.
Peyton took a .500 team and made them into a serious SB contender.
Brady is doing his best Brady impression. I dont think he gets it this year mostly because he has been so great in some seasons that this almost seems 'ho hum'.
So its either Peyton or Talywhackerson's (lets see if that get starred this way) to win. If AP breaks the record and they make the playoffs then I have to say he gets it.
Peyton will win Comebackk player no matter what.
If The vikes do not make the postseason...how many MVPs were on teams who did not make it?

I think AP deserves it, he's literally carried that team on his shoulders, but I think Manning will win it.

Despite Brady leading a comeback, I think he took himself out of the running last night with a home loss. 36/65 with a TD (also a RuTD) and 2 INTs is not MVP worthy this late. The loss likely cost the team a bye. I realize the fumbles werent his fault and other things, but he didnt look that good for much of that game. As unfair as it is, the losses go to the QB and W/L are big for the MVP, especially late in the year.

Not sure, but the last one to do it was OJ Simpson in 1973, and he set the rushing record at the time (was the first to eclipse 2,000 yards). I do think AD is going to have to break or get very close to Dickerson to win (probably break if they don't make the playoffs). But, he needs less than 300 yards in his final two games and he's going up against the 30th and 18th ranked rush defenses, so it's definitely within reach.thavoice;1345499 wrote:If The vikes do not make the postseason...how many MVPs were on teams who did not make it?

Also interesting, of the backs to break 2,000 yards in a season, only Terrell Davis (1998), Barry Sanders (1997) and OJ Simpson (1973) won the AP MVP award the same year. Dickerson, Jamal Lewis, and Chris Johnson did not win.

It goes to a QB every year. AP deserves it but I'm sure manning or Brady will probably win.

AP, and I wouldn't be surprised if he won comeback player as well. Tearing his knee up and accomplishing what he has is unprecedented.

The issue I have with him as Comeback Player over Peyton is AP played the entire season, almost, last year. Peyton hadnt thrown a football in game action for nearly 18 months.royal_k;1345834 wrote:AP, and I wouldn't be surprised if he won comeback player as well. If it goes to anyone other than AP or Peyton, I'll be shocked.

AP is the only reason Minnesota even gains yards.

Saw this stat on ESPN.com today:
On the season, Adrian Peterson is averaging 6.3 yards per rush; Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder is averaging 5.9 yards per pass.

I think JJ Watt might be the best player of the bunch when compared to others at the same position. However, they don't give the MVP to defensive players.
For that reason, ADP should win it and Peyton as comeback. Or you could even swap the two.

It will go to Peyton, but it should go to AP.

This. Watt is having one of the best defensive seasons in the last decade or two. What he's done is amazing, but it'll go to an offensive player. My guess is AP.

When Watt went against Brady....that killed his chances.

Yeah, he "only" had 4 tackles and a forced fumble...such a terrible game for a defensive lineman.Ironman92;1346816 wrote:When Watt went against Brady....that killed his chances.

Zero blocked passes, zero sacks...did you see the score? Not to mention he popped the ball into the endzone.jmog;1347080 wrote:Yeah, he "only" had 4 tackles and a forced fumble...such a terrible game for a defensive lineman.
