I hear they have the traffic situation straightened out. I know they added more parking. In 2011, there was still a lot of highway construction going on. That was a big reason for the congestion as well. I'm sure a lot of it is done by now. We bought a package where we sat on top of the building off turn 4 in the pits. They oversold that, so I literally had to stand all day and all night during the race. Thankfully, 2 gentlemen got up so my wife and son could sit. Then the escalators going to the pits broke after the race. That sucked going up all those fucking steps after standing in humid 95 degree heat all day long. They ran out of water at the track and didn't have enough restrooms. I think everything that could go wrong did, Lol.
It was my sons first race, and our driver Kyle won, so that was cool. He got to experience his driver winning his first race. He made it on SPEED's pre race show, met Kyle, got lug nuts from Gordon, Johnson, Kyle, Junior, and 3 or 4 other teams cars that they handed to him when they were pushing the cars back to the garage. We were at Victory Lane for Kyle's celebration, and when they were pushing Kyle's car out of VL, one of Kyle's crew members gave my son his VL worn inaugural winner hat. So he had a great experience, so all that made it well worth it. But because of everything else, I won't be back anytime soon.
Enjoy!
