Seriously, because a shooting in Connecticut Leno thought about not going on air? Why? It's not like 9/11, it a local tragedy, but hundreds of people have died violently in the hours since it occured.

And just like 9/11, the whole country is devastated. No, I'm not comparing the two and saying they are the same, but I can see why he'd think that.

Can't imagine waking up as a parent of one of these kids this morning (if any of them even slept). My empathy, though still present, has turned to anger. I do believe in a hell, so I hope this pos's soul burns for eternity.

I feel bad for Ryan Lanza. His life was just pretty much ruined after the reckless way in which the media, without apparently any valid confirmation, reported him as a mass murderer.

Good insight. I agree with this. Because it was children, Adam Lanza will go down as the worst mass murderer in American history. And it's not even close. He executed 20 children. That's Texas Chainsaw status.

No he wont. This isnt even the biggest school massacre. The guy killed 38 kids in the Bath school massacre.

This is the second biggest school massacre behind Cho, according to most of the news outlets. When was the Bath school massacre? Never even heard of it. Also, Cho broke the record according to pretty much any source.

Just looked it up. Bath happened in 1927. Nobody remembers that. This Lanza guy will go down in infamy as the worst U.S. mass murderer ever. IMO, of course.

Your line of thinking doesn't make sense. By your logic, Lanza will only be remembered as that for a time, and then will be replaced by a newer mass murderer because at some point, this event will have happened a long time ago, and won't have the impact that the newer modern day events have.

He will be remembered because they want you to remember, which is what makes me sick about today's media and population. People are sheep and only care about what the media tells them is true. Kehoe killed 38 kids, 5 adults and himself. 58 more were seriously injured. This wasn't a one room schoolhouse attacked by Indians. This was a 20th century style school blown up by a crazy.

Look guy, I know you're probably not happy about how this will get folks talking about gun control and all but this situation is pretty damn bad. 20 little kids who were probably just thinking about what they might get for Christmas were murdered by a mad man in a place that people think is supposed to be safe. Every parent in America I'm sure is feeling similar sick-to-their-stomach feelings as they were on 9/11. It's not a local tragedy.

Agree. Obviously in terms of number of deaths and world-wide ramifications, this doesn't compare to 9/11. But I think the shock value of it (being young kids) gives many that same sad feeling they had during 9/11.

This will be forgotten in 2 months. I mean, does anyone remember the last time you thought about the Colorado theater shootings?

9/11 is already in history books and changed America forever. The only way I see this becoming a national memory is if the white house throws the 2nd amendment under the bus because of it.
