That's one HS bball game I would have enjoyed attending just so I could point and laugh at the losing coach.

why are these two schools even playing each other? it makes no sense..the losing team only averages 17 points a game. instead of the coach and players being blamed the admins who let this game get on the schedule should be blamed.

Sometimes it's unavoidable. A few years ago, our girl's team was one of the best around, and made the state Final Four. One of our league teams was a small school and all their sports were pretty miserable. One of the games was like 97-17 and other somewhere around there. We couldn't just cancel the game because the other team wasn't good.Gblock;1341913 wrote:why are these two schools even playing each other? it makes no sense..the losing team only averages 17 points a game. instead of the coach and players being blamed the admins who let this game get on the schedule should be blamed.
Our girl's JV team won last night 60-2. Again, a league game, where the schools sports are just down in the dumps right now. There wasn't much we do.

In high school when we were making sports highlight videos, my one buddy did the girls basketball team. It was so bad we made a blooper reel and got in serious trouble. My favorite was in a big game a girl coming off the pick & roll and shot it above the backboard. I have every confidence if I played girls bball I'd average 35 points a game, seriously

Man, the losing coach burned most of her timeouts in that game. Why? Every minute you spend talking to your team on the sideline is one more minute everyone has to be in the gym for that game.

The Indian Creek Middle School 8th grade girl's basketball team beat Toronto 70-4 a few weeks back.

Hopewell-Loudon's great girl's teams in Seneca County in the late '90s regularly beat teams by 75 or more points. On the way to their state championship in '99, the Lady Chieftains beat one team 111-9. What are you supposed to do when you are that much better than your opponent? Just hand them the ball? Sometimes, the talent level is just that much superior.

I remember that team, with DiDi Reynolds, right? Didn't her dad (Doug?) coach them as well? From what I remember, they could've beat most D1 teams at the time.

Yeah, I believe, as the story goes, D-IV Hopewell tried to schedule Toledo Central Catholic when Steve Mix's daughter was there, but they could never get CC to agree to a date. Those H-L teams were the best high school girl's teams I've ever seen. They probably weren't at the level of some of those Pickerington or Dayton Chaminade-Julienne teams from the '90s, but I think they could have given them a run for their money. Looking back at a state program I have, they averaged close to 90 a game and surpassed 100 points five times. Remarkable.vball10set;1367171 wrote:I remember that team, with DiDi Reynolds, right? And yes, DiDi played for her dad, Doug.
