Went to it for the first time on saturday. It wasnt too bad, actually kinda fun.
Some observations..

-There was some hot women there, obviously made hotter by their interest in sports on my scale...
-Ya gotta be an absolute fool to wait in those autograph lines. We waited once, for 15 minutes, in the Sabo line. It was past his cut off so we just waited until they announced who was next. It was Jocketty so we said the hell with it. Without waiting in those hideous lines they got the autographs of: Foster, Meseraco, Marshall, Phillips, Arroyo, Hannigan and Stubbs. All of this was either when they were walking from point-to-point and stopped to sign or when we were walking around and the player stopped for autographs. I wouldnt wait in those lines for nothing!!
-Most interesting parts were the skits/shows they had on stage. Bull Session, Family Fued, Name that Tune, and Arroyo's concert. Those are what I enjoyed the most.
-Arroyo doesnt sing too bad. The acoutsics didnt sound the best as there was echoing, and ya could tell his voice was strained but when he was singing some of the rock songs he sounded pretty good.
-Saw Cueto make a kid cry! It was when he was talking to his autograph booth this kid held out a ball and asked if he could sign it. JC said "NO" and kept walking. Was kinda funny! The kids dad tried to console the kid though how JC was heading to the booth and couldnt stop for autographs.

To top the day off we ate at Hooters. Now, I think teh food at hooters is pretty poor but it wasnt my choice. I woulda rather go to the Frickers across the road but hey....

We got to our table and the overweight hootters girl said "Oh, reds fans. I absolutely LOVE the reds. I was born DURING the world series in 1990! Did you guys just come back from the reds game?

I reitereate. "Did you guys just come back from the Reds game?"

It was December 8th.

I couldnt even respond to it.

but anyways.......I think I would go back and just know that waiting in the autograph lines is a no go. Toooo Fn long of lines and if I had to do that I think i would have punched someone!

Anyone else go and what was your experiences?

I went on Friday and I enjoyed it a lot, but didn't get many autographs. Only one I got that mattered to me was Stevenson. Was cool as hell to see all the players up close when they were doing radio interviews. I do wish there was more stuff to buy but the memorabilia and game used things were pretty awesome.

Yeah, it was fun. I knew that the lines would be so mind numbing long so I wasnt looking forward to it much as I am not "star struck" by professionals for whatever reason. If it werent for the entertainment on the stage then I think it woulda been a bust.

He wasnt an ass. JC was being led to his autograph session and walking briskly. If he had stopped for that kids autograph then he woulda been mobbed by all of them waiting in line right there. He maybe coulda said "sorry I cant...' instead of an emphatic NO but hey....

I was there for a VIP sneak peek on Thursday, and then both days of the main event. This was the first year that I actually decided to wait in the autograph lines and came away with the following:

Thursday
Cozart
Heisey

Friday
Chapman

Saturday
LeCure
Ondrusek
Maloney
Granger
Davis
Browning (he signed 2 cards for me)

I ended up spending a lot less money than I usually do by standing in the autograph lines. Usually I end up buying a ton of shit from the memorabilia dealers. I only spent $5 this year and $2 of that was on coat checking.

Also got to chat with Joe Morgan for a little bit in the HOF lounge area. He sold me a Honda.

and I kinda thought about that when I posted it! i was right there and I ddint think it was outta line, nor did the did the kids dad!

I thought maybe I saw as I figured you were there.

Almost forgot....3 times, once twice by teh same kid, did I get approached to give money to their youth football program. The kids were walking around asking for donations. I kinda thought that was pretty tacky, but oh well.

I thought something was funny...some player was getting lead to probalby his autograph sessio or whatever. Didnt not recognize the guy's name...but he was walking hand in hand with his wife/girlfriend/mistress/side piece. Well, actually, he was being led and almost pulled by here! I know where that player's check goes to....right into her bank account!

Was Todd Frazier's wife there? That would've been worth the trip.

He was only there on friday, as was votto.

Also another small tidbit..........

..was Arroyo taking shots at Votto? (I read that votto looks like he hasnt shaved since the reds lost?>???) He was poking fun at his concert how he loved to come to redsfest and do what he does, and apologized for not talking much during the autograh sessions because his voice was going out (on wlw few days before he said they were rehearsing a few times for the concert) but how he loved being there....and asked teh crowd if Votto stuck around at all after his session and if anyone saw him!??!?!? Mentioned that is what happens when you sign a 225 million dollar deal..ya just go away in your private jet and not have to talk to anyone!

She was. I was standing in the hallway outside the event and Hoover, Frazier, his fiancee, and Phillips walked by. She was chatting with BP about something. I can't remember what he said exactly but he called something "shit" in a playful manner. She was smoking, but she's gotta be high maintenance.

No doubt he probably was flirting with them! I saw BP twice at a small, local event during the reds caravan. It is a stop they do and have probably maybe 100 people who attend it. I remember him flriting big time with the waitresses there. ONe was our neighbor girl down the road who was I think 17, maybe 16, at the time....she does have some very nice assets, and BP was flirting with her big time, and then two years ago he was pretty suggestive with a waitress about mixing his drink with her fingers..and a few other things...was kinda funny.

but anyways........
