Whats next, is he going to coach girls B ball and volleyball so that he can make sure his daughter gets an offer to? If he steps down, Rittman needs to eliminate him from the payroll completely. But then again, that would take some balls from the school board, and to date, they have not shown that they possess the proper tools for that.

His mission has been accomplished. He elevated his son to a position where he was offered a D1 scholarship. Who cares if the team is winless and will have an O'fer? This is the sort of fellow who should be banned from coaching ranks. I feel for the rest of those kids.

I am tired of hearing about all the blame put on the coaching staff at Rittman. The problem starts at home, the parents of the kids. They want Rittman to be sucessful, but they don't push their kids to be the best that they can be. They are finding excuses for their child's failures either on the field or in the classroom. Rittman has alot of great kids with alot of potential, but the parents are not allowing coaches to be coaches. This is not just happening at the Varsity level, but at the Middle School level also and not just in Football, but all sports. Parents and the town are going to chase away great coaches that really care about the kids and want to see sucess for them.

I find it hard to believe that he is resigning in season. It just doesn’t make sense. Not that I am saying he needs to stay, but why not play out the year and then resign. If he does step down will his son get the job or will Milosovich get a chance to be the head football coach like he’s always wanted. I know a lot of people knock Rittman (myself included) but they have always seemed to have athletes and with new facilities I would think that an up and coming coach would love the opportunity to make Rittman relevant. I don’t know maybe I am wrong but can things really be that bad???
The best example obviously would be the job Coach Bohley has done at Chippewa. The entire Chippewa community is excited and buzzing with excitement, and I think the same could be done at Rittman or any league school for that matter. Winning breeds excitement and hopefully Rittman can figure things out, the kids deserve it

My son is not is not in school and he did not even go to Rittman. My post has nothing to do with Dennis' son getting a scholarship. It has everything to do with the way things are in Rittman with the parents and the town. I never said that Dennis was the greatest coach ever, but it is hard to coach a team that the town and the parents don't let him coach. They want the system to flip, but they don't want to do the hard work that comes with doing so.

I've never believed that kids who subject themselves to two-a-days and 3 hour practices aren't "willing to do the hard work". Kids want to succeed or they wouldn't be there. It's a failure of leadership. Maybe not just the coaches, but I rarely accept that these young men are the root problem (aside from lack of athleticism).

You are 100% correct 29fan, Rittman does have a number of talented kids, THAT DON'T PLAY IN THE POSITIONS THAT THEY ARE BEST AT! Now before you get your panties in a bunch, I do not have a kid or a family member for that matter, an the team. What I do have is 27 friday nights wasted watching kids with talent and heart not be played in the positions that would allow this team to be competitive. Is that on the parents? The fact that the majority of a playbook revolves around one person, is that on the parents?

Then again, you are right to a point, maybe if a PARENT would realize this his son is not a the great athlete he thinks he is, we could win a few more games. Maybe if a PARENT would stop making excuses for his child's lack luster performance, people would not want to run him out on a rail. Maybe, just maybe, if a PARENT would stop blaming his sons failures on everyone else on the team and realize that he is not a stud in this league, we could all get back to some good football!

Until that happens, I will continue to say he needs to go. Thankfully, my son is young enough that I can follow a number of other talented kids parents and open enroll him elsewhere if things don't change.

You 29FAN do not have any idea what you are talking about! My kid does play football and has dedicated his whole life from the time he started to play at 8 years old to this sport. It is his first love. He has played hurt, tired, burned out, offense, defense, cold, wet, in the rain, sleet and sometimes snow. He has subjected himself to missing out on family vacations, birthday parties, family outings and the like to be at practices, two-a-days and on and off season lifting. So don't sit there and say that these kids are NOT pushed to be the best they can be. I have supported my son and pushed him to play. Players have been taken out of positions that were rightly "earned" over their YEARS of playing for Rittman.

This coach waltzed into this town making promises he has not kept, to the school board, parents, boosters and mostly the players. After watching over the past 3 years Coach Dennis has showed nothing but disrespect to this whole community. Watch a game sometime and you will see the disappointment on his face when his kid doesn't make that touch down and another kid does. Or him yell at another player when his kid misses a play. Or how about him telling kids they wont play if they don't throw the ball to his kid. Tell me how that is good coaching? He has lost the respect of his players because of his lack of respect for them. He was only out for one player on that team and that is His own son. He has shown that he cares nothing for the other players and could care less about winning a game. If he cared about winning he would have left the players in that CAN play and let his son watch from the sidelines for a while. He likes to try and capitalized on his son looking good from the hard work of the other players.

So chew on that for a while. I have no sympathy for this man. The ones I have sympathy for are the boys that have lost their high school football career under this mans horrible coaching and his sons gloating. These boys will never get that back. For many over the last 3 years they will never play again. I can only hope that next year will be better for the boys and that they bring in a new coach that will live up to his word. Ask West Holmes what he did for their program?

This is our town, these are our boys and it is time something is done to give them a fighting chance to be all they can be.

well...it seems like a good place to start. They do control the team and make the decisions on everything from play calling to the practice schedule. Although, it's entirely possible there could be other factors (in case though, I think they're on to something with the coach criticisms)

I'm also enjoying Waynedale's comeback...alot of the same kids, alot of the same parents, alot of the same fans, same coach....wcalfan and his endless diatribes proved only that he was as wrong as the guys he spent so much time yelling about.

Proved that I was wrong??? Are you serious? Honestly, you don't have a clue about what has been going on over here the previous 2-3 years. Listen, you are entitled to your opinion but you really need to know the facts. Did you know that this is the first time in THREE years that we have not had players suspended for disciplinary reasons??? Do you not think that plays somewhat of a role in what happens on the field??? We finally have an ENTIRE group of kids (and for the most part, parents) that have bought in to what the coaches are preaching and it is starting to show on the field. The SAME people that said our coach was an idiot and didn't know what he was doing are now praising him. Why is that? You mean to tell me that his approach this year is different than last year??? He is a better coach this year than last year? Come on....you tell me....what is different this year?

If you look at my original post I did not single out one coach. There are other coaches on the Rittman football staff, including the Middle School Staff that are trying to make a difference and honestly care about the kids, but there are some parents and kids that don't want to cooperate with the schedule of football practices, two-a-days, and lifting. Opinionator, you are in the minority. If all the parents and kids sacrificed like you and your child have, the team would be going in the right direction. This dicipline does not just start at the Varsity level, but down at the Youth level, through the Middle School. I know what it takes to have a better team. My son was part of a team that was in the same situation as Rittman, but was turned around when the community, parents and kids worked together for a common goal of becoming sucessful. Like I had said before, there are great kids and parents in Rittman, they need to encourage and stand up to those parents and kids that are not showing or working towards a better team. As an alumni of Rittman, I want to see success brought back to the town and feel that Indian pride.

One last comment and I'll go back under my rock: Its interesting to me that Rittman has such a "parental problem" as well as "kids not wanting to work hard".

I have watched over the last few years, Rittman take a non existant wrestling program and build it from the ground up! Their youth numbers are above Waynedale's and the Coaches have shown the love, dedication and passion. I took my son and a friend to an open tournament in May...2-3 months AFTER youth wrestling season was over and there were approx 6-8 Rittman kids there. This was in Columbus. Rittman wrestling has made a move to come back and started at the grass roots level and now has a Varsity team. That points me in the direction of believing that SOMEWHERE in Rittman, SOME Parents care and have bought into something. Perhaps those same parents dont have kids in HS and its a whole different set of parents that aren't worshipping the Coach. My .02 cents.

Man you guys are making me tired with all this reading. So fire the coach...then what? Who do you want that will be better? Could anyone make this team win? You do have to have talent no matter the coach and I don't think there is much of that at Rittman right now.

You mean you haven't heard???? They have a D1 recruit going to The University of Akron to play for Terry Bowden...and his name is Blake Dennis. He has great hands and runs precise routes. I heard he also runs a 4.5 40 yrd dash and had a whopping 21 catches for 281 in all of last season. Thats talent right there!!
