You know they were 3-and-2 before Friday, right? They aren't as dominant as years past, but ask Rittman or Smithville if 3-and-3 would feel "awful."

I don't think anyone is suggesting a "turnabout" in coaching, because most people who aren't part of the Waynedale program didn't see a bad coach in years past.
Good teams take good players with hard work, but they do also take some level of good coaching. Watching the Smithville game this year (through the entire game), he seemed to balance the attack well, put the ball in the hands of the playmakers, and give the underclassmen appropriate experience later in the game.
That screams experienced, sound-minded coach.

We don't curl up into a ball this year when it's time for a big hit, we're the ones delivering the hit this season, not taking it like last year.
They're playing for each other, as a good team should.
That's good, but kids don't self-teach when it comes to getting over the fear of delivering hits. That's a demonstration of coaching as well.
And before anyone asks, I have no real ties to Coach Zuercher. I've met him a few times, but that's about it. However, I've been watching him for the entirety of his career, and judging his whole career, I think he's developed into a good coach.
