About 2 years ago due to gallstones. Not a bad surgery, but the next week it was hard to do anything.

Did my own at my desk with nail clippers and dental floss to sew it up.

Seriously, good luck with it.

Wife had it done....not much has changed. For a while she couldn't handle greasy type foods but now she's back as always.

Gall bladder with the laparoscope is pretty easy, especially compared to the 'old' way. Only problem I had is.... that 15 years down the road, the scar at one of the points they went in, left a weakness in my abdominal wall and I have a tender spot.

Had mine taken out in 2002... Gallstones. Was furtunate they were able to do it with a laparoscope. As I was coming out of the anesthesia, I asked the nurse if they were able to do the small incisions and she said "Honey, you can still wear your speedo!" I lol'd... for sure, because that would never happen.

Outpatient procedure, had to keep down clear liquids (soup) before they would let me leave... slept in a rocker recliner for a while, that was easy to rock out of and stand up.

Good luck!

I haven't noticed any complications from the procedure.

Heard removing Gall Bladder makes you a pussy. I hope you can confirm.

Srs Biz, you should be fine. I assume its similar to appendectomy I had yr ago. Sucked for about a week then I got over it.

Finally having my surgery tomorrow morning. They haven't even called to tell me when I'm supposed to be there yet. Ha I guess they figure you shouldn't have trouble finding a ride to get there.

Good luck buddy! Sure you'll do just fine as I'd imagine its a rather routine surgery at this point. Get time off work to recover?

They normally don't call until late in the afternoon, around 4 or 5ish.

I have been fighting this for about two years. They wanted to take mine out and I have been putting it off. I have no stones, but I have what they call "sludge". Good Luck Bigdaddy please let me know how it goes.

No stones are worse but the sludge gives the same result which is severve pain from time to time.
