Given that the state of Texas maintains a balanced budget and is the 15th largest economy in the world, it is practically feasible for Texas to withdraw from the union, and to do so would protect it's citizens' standard of living and re-secure their rights and liberties in accordance with the original ideas and beliefs of our founding fathers which are no longer being reflected by the federal government.
81,000 out of 25.6 million isn't a large percentage but it's still funny to me that they are making this big of a deal out of it.

How about let them fight each other, and the winner stays and the loser secedes.

In other words, what you said.

No I don't want to pay import prices on Stone/Green Flash/Lost Abbey/Russian River etc...

Also I dont want a passport to visit CA, and CA is the #1 economy in the US. Ppl want to visit CA, no one wants to go to Texas.

In conclusion Texas sucks, and CA beer is good.

lol at Texas over California. Anyone that has actually been to both states(save Austin, which is an absolutely awesome city) has to laugh at that one.

You could still visit CA, but then we don't have to worry about their ginormous cluster fuck of state debt. Plus it would solve like 1/2 of the illegal immigration problem.

Don't worry. CA is hard at work transforming it's reputation for being the worst state to do business in to being a state that no one wants their business to be in.

My friend grew up in Burbank and wants to live in Texas (has been there), so that's that.

Anyways that petition is up to 109000 now. Was over 100k yesterday

Also a petition about the liberals Austin withdrawing from Texas, but still remaining part of the US.

The petition only requires 25,000 signatures.

This is Texas' 89th time they have filed. When Texas was a Republic the agreement to join the U.S. was inclusive of their ability to leave at any time they chose.

22 other state have also submitted petitions to the White House to secede.

This would work until the next hurricane strikes Galveston or Corpus Christi. The seccessionists would be the first ones with their hands out.

TX is armed to the teeth. They can take care of themselves.

CA, on the other hand, would quickly ban all guns and then the criminals truly would have the run of the place.

given the demographic trends
after Texas secedes from the United States
within 2 or 3 decades there will be a Hispanic majority
who will request readmission

to Mexico
