A person close to the UT athletic department told the Times Free Press that Dooley is not expected to return next year and two Knoxville websites reported similar claims. However, there was no official word for the university Sunday, a day after the Vols lost to Missouri 51-48 in four overtimes.

Not surprising at all. Gotta produce and he hasn't done a thing

This is the third year with the same primary core of players and the team has regressed. Dooley's decision this weekend to not even attempt to score at the end of the fourth quarter with good field position, a very capable qb, and two timeouts was a clear indication of his coaching ability. In addition, while production is up on the offensive side of the ball, the defense is atrocious. I'm amazed as to how poor Sal Sunseri is as a defensive coordinator. The announcers have been able to point out schematic problems on multiple occasions. For example, South Carolina had it 3rd and goal from the 26. Sunseri puts a single deep safety and they give up an easy touchdown. UT lost by 3 that game.

Wonder what kind of affect this will have on his recruits; especially Vonn Bell.

Good. Time for Urban to put the full court press on Bell.
