I mean, I've got it for a while now. But yeah, it pains me when I hear people harp about the "land of the free." Just because we are more "free" than folks in some (not all) countries is nothing to hang our hats on. If you think you're free try not paying your bullshit property tax. There are no property rights in America anymore. None. And they are one of the most important foundations of freedom.

I will say my previous image is a bit unfair to the current president. It should include most presidents of the last 100 years or more. But fuck that guy anyway.

I don't know that the "racist" part is universal of the standard registered Democrat of today. However, something LIKE this came to mind the other day, when I heard a good friend of mine, a registered Democrat, say of the NSA spying, "It's not like it's a big deal if you're not doing anything illegal."

This person railed against Bush's support and signing of the PATRIOT Act.

Reminds me of Jeff Daniels' tirade in the first scene in the very first episode of News Room.

"And with a straight face, you’re gonna tell students that America is so star-spangled awesome that we’re the only ones in the world who have freedom? Canada has freedom. Japan has freedom. The UK, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Australia…Belgium has freedom! So…207 sovereign states in the world…like 180 of ‘em have freedom."

We're easily an "also ran" in the category of freedoms anymore.

Careful. That includes Reagan, and you'll piss off some 'Pubs by lumping him in, there. ;)

I can tell you that the leftist media plays the race card continually. I also have Democrat friends who have, on several occasions and with a straight face, said to me, "you just don't like the fact that Obama is black" whenever I've been critical of their leader.

I always respond with, "I wouldn't give a damn if Obama were an invisible albino from Kenya, Norway he'd still suck". ;)

This reminds me of the post 9/11 days. The ACLU and American Left went absolutely nuts at the thought of the U.S. tracking flight records. Now, let's just step back a bit and realize that if you fly with a commercial carrier they have ALL of your information, especially if you participate in a frequent flyer program. All the government wanted was to have the carriers share such information that no one should expect privacy.

Again, George W. Bush was a fascist, the days of BushHitler
began all because the US made it clear that your flight information isn't private - which it never was (pretty much anytime you deal online with a business, they use your information for marketing purposes).

Now fast forward to 2013 and we actually have the NSA monitoring our e-mails and cell phone calls but that's all cool because, you know, Obama!

It boggles the mind.

Naturally, I'm not saying NO Democrats are racist. I know several who are. I don't necessarily think they mean to be, but they are, nonetheless.

I've since concluded that the value or merit of a governmental proposal is mostly irrelevant. At the very least, it takes a distant back seat to the more decisive factor: which side of the aisle supports it.
