Points aren't awarded by winning a county, it's still beynumber of votes. So what if 15 out of 20 people voted for Romney in a county. When 90-100 voted Obama in a bigger county it still shows up Obama 95 Romney 25. It doesn't matter where you live. 1 person is 1 person. You're making a ridiculous argument.

(And I think that I thought you were responding to him) If we did away with the electoral college, all the big cities would elect the president. So we have the electoral college to give the smaller states more power. There is no version of the electoral college in each state, so it doesn't matter that most of the counties voted for Romney because there are a lot more people in the cities.

I am not sure what is more comical the Romney crew who are down in the dumps today or the Obama crew who think that now all of the sudden we are going to have an economic boom and we are on our way to erasing the debt, ending wars and all the sudden we will quit printing trillions of dollars out of nowhere.

I'm a little down in the dumps because I thought Romney had some really good ideas and could get the economy going in the right direction. Somehow and for some reason I quickly convinced myself that Obama just has to largely stay out of the way and businesses will start putting their cash to work.

Call me an optimist (which is odd as I tend toward the skeptical). But my hope is that even with Obama being re-elected you have some degree of certainty over the next 4 years that you didn't have yesterday or 6-12 months ago. I know that's wishful thinking - higher taxes and slower growth are not conducive to investment. But it's all I got.

Again, where did I say do away with electoral college? Oh that's right, I didn't. But when a state splits the popular vote, it is not accurate representation to give the whole state to one candidate. In fact, the state level popular vote almost does the opposite of what the electoral college is supposed to.

Fact is, 72 counties' people had no say in the election.

The day after I'm not delusional at all...the better horse in this particular race won. Will that horse do shit for anybody? Most likely if you are true middle class to upper middle class - probably not. If you are extremely wealthy he's gonna try and get some more of what you got (but you didn't get extremely wealthy by being stupid...so you might find ways to keep it away from him). If you are poor you might see some benefits from this guy but at the end of the day you are still going to be poor...accept it and move on.

Which of these guys would you rather sit and watch a game with and have a few cold ones? Boom! Romney doesn't even drink cold ones so you know he's a tool to begin with.

Can't wait for that boom in employment. What will kickstart that, a serious increas in capex? We have easy money for 4 years, but no growth. The risks are far too great for the $2 trillion to come off the sidelines; the costs are too high. I wish it were otherwise, but we have an incredibly unfriendly business climate, we are facing a fiscal cliff, we have no real growth, and we don't have a leader that has exhibited one ounce of humility or the ability to negotiate or compromise with our elected representatives.

I'm sorry for being pessimistic, but I don't see much to get excited about: higher taxes, more costly health care, over-regulation, massive debt, prolific spending, and ZERO leadership in dealing with any of it.

Yes, your guy won, congrats! But he did it with 10 million fewer votes, and barely squeeked by. The entire nation is not swooning over him. He may have gotten a mulligan from the electorate (barely), but the jury is definitely out on his ability to do anything positive whatsoever.
