Anyone have a preference to brand?
I'm a Craftsman guy, but am willing to read others' opinions on Miluakee, Dewalt, etc.
Are they all the same, or are there little things that make a huge difference?
Also, not trying to go the EBay route. Would rather walk into a store and purchase on from the shelf.
ps: Or a hammEr drill!!!! Stupid!!!!!!! :banging head against brick wall emoticon:
Also: I found a 60" VIZIO LED, 1080dpi, 120Hz. I'm thinking about going with it.

I have used Dewalt and never had a problem. I think Lowes has a sale on the 18volt hammer drill right now for $100.

I saw an article last week on Yahoo that said renting may be the best option if you need to use a hammer drill.

Do I want battery powered or one with a cord? I'm thinking I want a cord, but recognize the drawback of the inevitablity of it getting tangled up with something.
However, guaranteed power source! (I seriously doubt I'm hanging things if the electricity goes out!)

Over the last few months, I see more and more projects that I'll need to be using one. Even if renting one is $35 for 4 hours, I could buy one in two to three projects. (ps: Who in the HECK is BUYING a post hole digger!?!?!?!?! I guess the biggest question is what are you going to be using it for? That should help make a better decision. If its a big job and you will be using it a lot then get a corded model. If you are just using it around the house then a battery powered will work just fine.

I was going with corded because it is a bit of a big project. A few upgrades on the wrestling room, and then a few more projects in my garage and basement. I'd hate to be in the middle of a project and then need to charge the battery. And I'm not trying to lug around two batteries!
And yes, I'm the guy who wanted peanut butter and jelly in the same jar! Heck, put some crutons in there and have a sandwich! Why not put it in a squeeze jar!?!?!?!

I have a couple Milwaukee's for hand drills but Dewalt for hammer drill. Milwaukee, Dewalt, or Bosch is all I'd trust.

I just want to make sure I don't walk in, buy something, and then mention to some friends - or on here - and get ridiculed for buying it. I'd rather be informed about the purchase. And from what I can tell, you guys get it.
Get the best bang for the buck, but also get quality.

Ding, ding, ding!!! I learned that when buying effects pedal for my electric guitar. Bought some hokie Wah pedal. I’m a Craftsman tool guy also and I stick to what I know is proven, dependable and spend a little more to get the best of the Craftsman product. I’ve been known to buy both types at some point. I would also for this product go with the cord style Hammr Drill.
