Since the game is in NY I'll say Giants pull this one out.

The Skins almost pulled one out in East Rutherford. If they can, I don't see why Pittsburgh couldn't come out with a W. It will be difficult, but possible.

very true...they should have lost to the skins, dallas almost won after six turnovers, they didnt look great against browns and lost to philly...i like pitts chances to win this game if they can protect ben. also pitt needs to get some type of pass rush. the db's seem to be starting to gel a lil bit if we can get to eli we can win there. very important game for pitt.Automatik;1307959 wrote:The Skins almost pulled one out in East Rutherford. I wouldnt look at the Division games as indicators (Skins, Dallas and Philly). Those games are always going to be close. I dont have their schedule in front of me, but they have looked really good agaisnt teams they dont play 2 times a year and arent rivalries.

Yeah, so they have looked very good against non divisional foes. Granted, its a small sample size.Gblock;1308024 wrote:they crushed 49 ers, and carolina got beat by dallas in week one
They do suck at home, comparatively at least, to away games. Not saying the Steelers dont have a shot, but looking at past games as an indicator, especially divisional ones, is a bad way to go about NFL matchups. In that case, Steelers are gonna get smoked. They been shaky on the road and lost to Tennessee and Oakland afterall...
Ill say Giants 27 - 17 Steelers in a close game throughout, but in the end, Steelers play 2 scores behind all game.

looks like a perfect trap game everything points to the giants winning..steelers havent won a road game this year and have lost to some horrible teams and will probably be getting 3-4 pts on the road and outright win the game. i hope anyway lol. steelers really cant afford to lose this game

EDIT: Then again, since that place does tend to be Pittsburgh West when the Steelers come to play, you are kind of right, as it's never a true road game with a hostile crowd and all those things.

This is a tough one. For some reason I think the Steelers will pull out a W. I will definitely have it as a 1 in my football pool. (Means I only get docked 1 point if the Steelers lose)

This is one of those games where Pittsburgh is very dangerous IMO. I'd feel more comfortable with Polamalu but I could see the Steelers taking a 31-21 game....but also know the losses at Denver, Oakland and Tennessee suck balls and losing this would not surprise a person in the world.

When I look at the Giants, they're so damn inconsistent from game to game.
I like the Steelers 24-17. If Mendy is healthy and Dwyer is healthy, we have a great 1-2 punch at RB.

Eli generally being super-clutch in the fourth quarter, while Pittsburgh's D has tended to crumble in that time period really worries me. Especially since I'd have to be more sold on Baltimore being in big-time struggle-mode than I am to feel good about them losing to Cleveland. Don't really want to fall two games behind the Ravens again, but it's hard to be overly optimistic coming into this game.
Big thing will be if Pittsburgh can have a third straight game with a great rushing effort. Through history, they've always seemed to be better when they can control the ball on the ground and not be forced into shootouts. It seems to play into both their offensive and defensive strengths, so they have to get a strong running game to win, in my opinion.

I think if the steelers can score more points than the giants then they have a pretty good chance at winning this one.

One part of me, as a Giants fan, worries about this game: the Giants have looked like the best team in football at times, and at other times have look uninspired and out of sync.
Another part of knows that the Giants are one missed field goal (at Philly) and one long 3rd down conversion (vs Dallas) away from potentially being 8-0 a year after winning the Super Bowl.
Should the Giants win this game, at home? Absolutely. That being said, the Giants have yet to play a "complete" home game, losing to Dallas, struggling early vs Cleveland and Washington, and needing 500+ yards from Eli to beat the Bucs.
My concerns:
* Outside of the San Francisco game, the defensive line hasn't gotten the type of pressure on the QB we have grown to expect
* Nicks, while gimpy, has been a shell of his former self, while Marcellus Bennett's early success may be a bit flukey
* Love Eli, but he is good for one bad pick a game
My gut tells me the Giants win 24-17, but this could go either way.

Tuck with a little pre-game gamesmanship, bitching in the hopes of getting some calls.

I could be wrong, but hasn't he whined about holding before a game in the past?Heretic;1310580 wrote:Tuck with a little pre-game gamesmanship, bitching in the hopes of getting some calls.
I'm excited for the game, but have some bad feelings. I could see Victor going OFF. Ike needs to play lights out, if that's even possible.

Coughlin pulled the same routine before they played the Niners a couple weeks ago. Harbaugh responded through the media. I hope the Steelers respond on the field.

It was Kevin Gilbride or whoever the coordinator is...wasn't Coughlin
