The new ipad specs are coming. Figured we could have a discussion on it.

I'm getting a tablet soon so I'm really interested in seeing whats new. The ipad is in a class by itself in my opinion.

Overpriced, but it's nice. I have an iPhone 4s, an iPad 2, and a 17" MacBook Pro. In my opinion, to ME, the iPad is useless. It's a great tool, however, on which my daughter(s) can play games and watch Netflix.

You don't need to pay that much for it, though.

It's not a bad way to go. But honestly I'm digging my ultrabook, and between that and my phone I have no need for a tablet. Never really used the one I had so I gave it away.

About the only thing I really enjoyed on my tablet was reading the WSJ and the occasional book. Maybe a couple of games. Granted, it's cheaper than a good ultrabook so they aren't useless.

I'll be getting a 7 inch tablet for Christmas, deciding between the new 32gb nexus or ipad. I'm mostly tied to android because of google play market and amazon market, so I'm leaning that way.

If you add a keyboard you have an overpriced netbook.

Does the Chromebook have a touchscreen? If so, sign me up.

Mainly why I never used my Ipad. Surfing isn't bad, I guess, if you set-up bookmarks for all your sites. IMO, a laptop is better. But if you don't have a laptop, the Ipad might be comparatively a bit cheaper and a little more mobile.

An I pad is a life saver when you have a small child. Keeps my 2 year old busy at restaurants. Hell I think she knows how to work it better than I do

My wife is a K-3 teacher(well she is hoping to get a classroom in the next year or two, currently is an intervention specialist) so thinking an iPad would be great for her to use in the classroom. Not sure I want to go smaller than the current models so hopefully this just brings the price down on the 2.

Overpriced half functional laptop. The "They are so easy to use and bring to meetings" is junk marketing at best. It's also easy to bring a laptop and bring to meetings; the only purpose of a tablet is to show others that you can afford a tablet.
