Tigers in 5. They've been unbeatable at home and IMO they have a better lineup and starting pitching is set up perfect for this series. Verlander his last 7 starts is 7-0 with 0.69 ERA and opponents are 1-29 with runners in scoring position. I am beyond thrilled for this series. Go Tigers!

The Giants have won more road games than the Tigers and if the Tigers are unbeatable at home, that will only win them 3 games.
It is pretty ironic that the Giants have the home field advantage in the WS because of Melky Cabrera.

He's been eligible since the NLDS ended....they're moving on without him.

Tigers in 6. They have a distinct advantage over many AL teams in that their two best hitters are position players, not DH, so playing in SF shouldn't shake things up too much.

Will be interested in watching Verlander pitch, and that is about it. Probably will flip through peridocally to see the score, and if it is close late then watch the ending. Just cannot invest 3.5+ hours of my night to watch a game when my team isnt in it!

If the tigers are smart, they let the giants win game one and maybe game two. Then turn it on, don't wanna have these guys on the brink of elimination.

Thing is AL lineups are a whole other animal as long as your best hitters are not DH's. I mean the Reds and Cards were good, but a lineup of Jackson-Berry-Cabrera-Fielder-Young is much better than Jay-Beltran-Holliday-Craig-Molina. It should be a fun series thoughMidstate01;1302930 wrote:If the tigers are smart, they let the giants win game one and maybe game two. It makes me sick the reds are not playing.
It just seems like there's something special about the giants this season. I know the tigers are e better team with better pitching but I'll take the ginats in 6.

Lol at saying that the tigers lineup is much better than the cards. Cards scored 40 more runs this year without a DH. Stop being a homer.Classyposter58;1303012 wrote:Thing is AL lineups are a whole other animal as long as your best hitters are not DH's. Lol agreed.
Jay> Jackson
Beltran> berry
Holiday< Cabrera
Craig< fielder
Molina> young
I'd take the cards line up in a second especially if Berkman was healthy

I'd call Jay and Jackson even....could see Jackson above
Young is killer in the postseason...would call them even offensively

I'd still take the cards. Outside of fielder and Cabrera they are very inconsistent

Scutaro has been amazing in the post-season. The guy just can't miss. If he's swinging the bat he's making some sort of contact.
I'm going with the Giants in 6. If Posey shows up they will be hard to beat. Scutaro (see above), Pence is starting to get hot, Panda, and they have some great fielders in Pagan and Crawford.

It doesn't matter how loaded a lineup is....pitching is what it is all about in the playoffs.
I wanna say that the Giants will win, but the fact that Verlander could possibly throw three times makes me wonder....

Oh you can't deny the AL is a better league. They've had a better record against the NL every year since 2003Heretic;1303496 wrote:That's why when I think of teams with high-octane offenses, I immediately think Seattle! ****ING AL BABY!!!!!
