Many of you on here don't have kids or they aren't very old. My daughter is a senior and about 2 hours ago played high school volleyball for the last time. She's not a great volleyball player but she's got a fantastic attitude and always gives it her all.

I've always harped on her to get her serves in bounds. Last year she was an incredible 218/226 serving. This year she stayed focused enough to somehow top it by going 260/266 for 98%....including her last 112 in a row.

Yes, those last contests are tough. I've gone thru 10:

1999 BB, SB, VB
2000 BB, SB
2001 VB
2002 BB, SB
2006 W, PV

Some of those are very vivid memories, and since none were state championship contests, all have a measure of disappointment attached to them.

VB is in the fall the year before they graduate - 4 kids, graduated 99,00,02,06. Two played two sports and two played three.

As a parent of 3 daughters (or any parent of children that have excelled in high school) and having to go through the emotional roller coaster of the senior year and last performance, final game, to witness the end of one stage of their life and to understand that new stage is about to begin is difficult. There is nothing wrong with being a proud parent and I thank you Ironman92 for reminding me of time long ago and the memory of being a dad that day. </SPAN>

Just received her acceptance letter from Marshall University and she will be pursuing a career in pharmacy. She's barely a valedictorian if that makes you feel better.

I'm proud of my kids and like to gloat some.....you guys get it.

I'd be more proud of her going to college and majoring in something relevant than serving well in high school volleyball. Christ.

Also, pharmacy is a bitch. Let's hope she sticks with it instead of switching her major to psychology or some BULLSHIT major that does a better job at finding a husband than finding a job.

That's what keeps people away. Many posters should leave and never come back, they are too cool for this forum.

When I was senior I went to the first volleyball meeting and told them I wanted to play.... they said sure I could be on the team but I had to shave my legs and armpits. I said fuck that and left.
