With all the new consoles out right now, I decided to go back a little bit. What's your favorite game on a past-generation console? Can be any generation except the current gen. Lots of great, classic games out there.

Metroid Prime - I played this for hours in college, while listening to the White Stripes, Elephant album. To this day, when I hear Seven Nation Army (at every fucking football game), I see visions of Metroid Prime.

This, along with Perfect Dark. I have Goldeneye for the Wii, but it's not the same without having drunk college buddies to play it with.

This is going to take some thought. I have a little video game room set up on my 3rd floor and the only consoles I have up there are an NES and N64. I'd like to add a SNES and Genesis as well.

Goldeneye was a game-changer. Also, although it's not quite as "past-gen" as most systems, I spent way too much time with the original Halo on Xbox. Pistol headshot across the map FTW

Off the top of my head. As a gaming geek who's played a gazillion or three of them.
Zelda series in general -- at least the two on the NES, the one on the SNES and Ocarina of Time. Haven't owned a Nintendo system in a while, so haven't played most of the more modern ones.
Early Castlevanias -- particularly III on the NES, IV on the SNES, Bloodlines on the Genesis and SotN for the PS1.
Tecmo Super Bowl -- both the NES one and the last SNES one.
Mario -- at least 2, 3, Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island. As well as Super Mario RPG for the SNES.
Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy III (VI in Japan) for the SNES. V for the Japan SNES. Need to play it through emulation, I played it as part of a PS1 compilation disc, but it crashed on my system constantly. Great game, but technical issues made it a bitch.
Dragon Warrior/Quest -- particularly III, IV, V, VI and VIII. Only played V and VI through translated ROMs through emulation, which made me wish that Enix hadn't been pissed at Nintendo of America, which is why those two didn't get released over here when they came out for the Japan SNES. They also had a cool trilogy of Zelda-like games. Soul Blazer and Illusion of Gaia were released here and Terranigma wasn't. All are awesome.
PS1's Gran Turismo 2 kicked ass.
First few Sonic games (Genesis) also were great.
Sure there's more, but can't think of them off-hand.

I do believe I have both of those consoles boxed up down in my basement. If so, you're more than welcome to have them.
