May be cheap by price, but there a many good bourbons in that price range. Woodford Reserve is one of them.

Ended up trying scotch a few weekends and liked what I tried. I even asked for a bottle of Caol Isla for Christmas.

I am price point on Whiskey (any liquor for that matter). Fan of Jamison's Irish for the price. What would be comparable in Scotch?

Sorry about the size. But seeing that large bottle just makes me more thirsty for some.

Ironic, given that alcohol dehydrates you.

I didn't mean that as a correction. At times, it really does feel like a "thirst" for it. I just think it's funny that it actually dehydrates you.

Cant believe I didnt see thi sthread when it firts started. Love Whiskey.

I prefer Kentucky/Tennesee Bourbon style and Canadian Whiskey than others, but I dont hate anything. I strongly dislike most Irish Whiskeys though.

Makers Mark and Canadian club is what I currently have in the Apt.

Anyone have a suggestion for a $25-$30 scotch.

Do yourself a favor and buy one of the ones from my picture above.

Then you'll know if you like scotch or not.

No. I am not a whiskey snob. I am a price point liquor drinker. I'll try the Glenlivet 12 year.

Bought a bottle of the Makers 46 last month. Smooth, yet a nice finish kick. A good amount of vanilla flavor in it as well.

Start off by seeing if there is a whiskey bar or Scotch bar in your area. Try a glass of something nice to see what you think.

I wouldn't go more than a couple/few drinks per night, as your sense of taste can be affected noticeably the more inebriated you get. Also, to get an accurate taste, I'd chase each with something to cleanse the palate so that you start fresh with each glass.
