Indiana, Kansas, Duke, Michigan, Florida, Louisville, Ohio State...those are really good teams for any year.

Withey isn't a top 10 pick...I'm talking about the elite guys.

Austin Rivers, Andre Drummond or Harrison Barnes would be at the top if they were in this year's draft. You're telling me Zeller, Noel and Shabazz are the projected top 3 picks (depending what sites you look at)? Crazy.

Right but it's not even January. Lets let the season fucking play out before we start saying there's zero talent at the top this year.

Not to mention, I would argue that IU gave UK its toughest issues last year. They are way better this year. Louisville obviously played for a title last year (Final Four) and are better this year. Its asinine to think that this year is so much more "down" than last. Kansas at this time was outside the top 10. A few years ago we had Butler and VCU in the Final Four. UK was special last year...thats it. Literally, thats it. After UK being #1, Id say the next spots this year are even better than last. MSU/Syracuse/UNC were not the most dominant #1 seeds of all time.

Elite talent is definitely down this year. I have no idea how you could possibly argue against that.

Individually, sure. I'm talking about elite teams. I think Azu was talking individual talent, which I'd agree. But still want to at least get through the year to make that call for sure.

Sure. But argument could EASILY be made that the teams this year are more elite. Why are mid-majors getting better? Upper classmen. Well, we have more down talent this year, but the teams have more experienced teams. I would take the top 10 this year over last years in many of the match-ups outside of #1

Again though, we have to wait and see at the end of the year. But right now, it sure looks like that will be the case.

There are 5 teams from last year that I would take over anyone I've seen this year.

The 1 seeds were 1 UK (obvious), 4 MSU (no fucking way), 3 UNC (debatable versus who we put at #3) and 2 Syracuse (Id listen to an argument, but Id take Michigan over them right now).

Uk and unc are no brainers. If you would take anyone this year over zeller/barnes/henson/marshall you're nuts. If Marshall doesn't get hurt they play uk for the title.

I wouldn't take anyone this year over Syracuse, osu, or Kansas either. I think all 3 of them are legit top 6-8 teams this year, but all also definitely worse than last year.

Michigan is the only team I would consider at this point. Indiana could work into that group once they find the right rotation with the suspended guys back, but after that? Gtfo if you think Zona, Louisville or Florida are on that level.

I'd rather Duke not get any respect, to be completely honest. Roll the ball out in March and bring it.

To say Syracuse last year is clearly better than any team this year is outrageous. While a very good team, they stumbled to victory over 16 seed UNC Asheville, trailing at one point late in the second half. They were far from unbeatable.

Indiana, Duke, Kansas, Michigan and (IMO) Florida would all match up very well with any team outside of Kentucky last year, and anyone one of them could potentially beat UK. Not saying they have superior talent to that UK team, but they are sound enough teams to not get run off the court. They could compete.

Shame on me for thinking a team that made LAST years final four and is better this year would be a top 10 team last year.

Its all semantics and opinion, so we will agree to disgaree.

Even with today's loss to Temple I think Syracuse will be one of those teams as well. MCW and Southerland both had off games today and Syracuse was atrocious from the line. They're not a great FT shooting team, rarely are, but typically won't be that bad from the line like today.

And UNC was the #3 overall seed, Id put them on par with Michigan and Indiana this year.

It would seem to me that Indiana and Duke (and Kansas who has thoroughly handled OSU in Columbus today) are getting very little respect this year. I'd chalk it up to other peoples' teams not performing to whatever level they were supposed to heading into the year.

I think there are a number of excellent teams this year at the top, teams that would have competed really well last year, too.

By March, IU had no shot against UK. IU played their exact game in the Regional Semi last year...and they got whipped playing that style almost the entire game. It was a great game, one of the most exciting of the year. However, for almost all 40 minutes, UK was about 10% better.

Guys, I'm actually thinking the overall team quality is BETTER this year. I mean isn't it obvious seeing some of these results? Heck, the mid-majors are representing big time this year. The A-10, MWC, WCC. They are as good as the ACC, SEC, Pac 12 and Big XII, or right there, especially the A-10 and MWC.

South Dakota State wins at New Mexico in The Pit. That's a fabulous win and SDSU can definitely make noise in the NCAA's.

Temple wins at Syracuse.

KU beat UNC by 13 points. No way would Kendall Marshall's (who by the way is in the D league) addition have changed the outcome of that game. Just would have possibly been a little closer.
