The new season started tonight....and it was awesome. Not sure how many people on here watch it, but I thought I would start a discussion thread.

No I didn't. Someone told me that at this point...the show is a long way off compared to the books. I heard the books are strange

That they are strange but still worth the read.
Arthur Mitchell still gives me chills and I liked Miguel, so many good performances.

Not my favorite show, but its awesome.

I will say, Dexter has BY FAR my favorite guest characters. Lithgow, Stiles and Hanks were all fantastic in the recent Seasons.

Arthur Mitchell made season 4...Lithgow was phenomenal. I am a Jimmy Smits hater, so season 3 was the weakest for me.

This season looks good. I'm calling my shot: LaGuerta is a goner. Maybe not by Dexter but she won't be around next season. As long as Angel doesn't die I'll be happy.

I tried to get into this show during the second season, the acting was just soo bad though. Couldn't get past that.

I don't like Smits, but Hanks' character was SO cliche, and he was such an unintimidating villain, that I might give last season the nod for the worst season, but yeah, I didn't love Season 3, either. Season 4 was redemption, though, until the end, when they left more holes in how Rita died than the location of Jimmy Hoffa.

The acting definitely picked up. That black detective (forget his name) was annoying and a terrible actor.

So was the actress who played Rita. She was almost a Sunday afternoon cartoon toward the end.

Me too. I just wish they'd tied up the story for the viewer better. Trinity is looking for Dexter. Gets the wrong place. Then, boom, Rita is dead in the tub. Doesn't explain how he found the correct house, why he used the method on a woman who didn't fit his MO (that was KIND OF explained a little afterward), or why he left Harrison in the blood, given that he didn't know Dexter's past.

Glad she's dead. The writers were sloppy about getting there.

However, I just watched last night's episode. Best episode in years.

It was pretty good last night. However, Homeland, which follows right after, is really good.

Good know, I may go back and give it a shot. Cool concept and have several friends who love it. It will be a while though, as I just started Breaking Bad last night.

It won't be that long, then. You'll get so sucked in that you'll get through it too quickly. :D

You will be done with Breaking Bad before Halloween lol. Best show on TV. I still say, as a HUGE critic of movies and TV, that Season 4 is the best Season of television ever (Breaking Bad, not Dexter).
