Chad (85) is a showman. This is a game. He does this to entertain. I enjoy watching to see what he will do next. When the Bengals were the toilet of the NFL he kept people talking about the Bengals. What Chad is doing to me is the right thing to do. My self I would like to see this money go into a scholarship fund for his kids. Chad's interview was touch and sincere. THe guy was touched by the loss of a good friend. It is sad when a young life is cut short. RIP #15

Once again you're clueless ..... It's to bad that the media does not report on the good things that Chad does with not only his fans but fans of the NFL in general. He's flown people out for home games, taken opposing teams fans on shopping sprees, taken fans to movies and paying for over 100 people and their food & drink and just today out in Cali he posted a picture on his twitter of paying for everyones bill at Starbucks while taking a picture with everyone. And everytime he gets fined he just doubles it and donates it to charity. I'd say the majority of NFL fans love what Chad brings to the game. A sense of playing for the love of the game and enjoying what he does.

If Henry and Ocho weren't close at all, I would play the "He wants attention" card....but this seems like a legit tribute to a friend.

I actually remember (was it last year?) when the Bengals cut Henry, and Chad found out on (I think?) Mike and Mike's radio show during a live interview, you could hear the legitimate shock and disappointment in his voice.

I know I'm in the Minority, but I honestly don't care how someone goes about doing something positive, as long as they're doing it.

I do get a bit fed up with Ocho, but he also does a lot of good that he doesn't boast about at all. I'll take an athlete like him over the all too familiar alternative any day.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but everything you listed is something he is doing in order to bring attention to himself, am I right? If he wasn't looking for attention and just wanted to do good, you wouldn't be reading about it on his twitter page.

Some of you don't understand, I'm not saying he isn't a stand up guy off the field, I'm not even saying he's not a stand up gut ON the field, I just get tired of his, again, "look at me" act. Sure matching the fine amount and donating it to a charity is very nice, but, when your team has worked all week to win a football game, and he scores a TD in the game, then does something so everyone will look at him and gets his team a 15 yd penalty, FULL WELL KNOWING that it's going to set his defense up to have to work that much harder, AND HE DOES IT ANYWAY? THAT, my friend is selfish. If you want to be a showman, get your own show on FOX or something, if not, quit doing stupid stuff....on the field....and help your team win.

How it was originally put isn't exactly right. He posts on his twitter that he's going to go see a movie Friday night at 11 and he'll pay for food and drinks and the movie for the first 100 people that come. Or when he's in another city he'll say whoever takes him to the Mall of America for example he'll buy them whatever they want.

Now I don't think Chad is the nicest guy in the world or anything, he just loves to have fun. He's done some stupid things(like last offseason) but has acknowledged he complained too much. I honestly don't think Chad has many good friends and that's why he does some of the things he does, like taking fans out and having them meet him at J Alexanders and such.

If people want to hate him that's fine, but he's had a great career and has a decent chance at being in the top 10-15 in receiving yards by the time his career is over. He's had one offseason where he acted like an idiot and he knows it, but it seems like his teammates know he's just Chad being Chad and don't take him serious at all, and they know he works as hard as anyone at being great. I never thought Chad could win me back after his antics 2 offseasons ago, but he's done it.

Has he cost them 15 yards for a celebration this year? Honest question. He's cost them yards by stupid false starts but I'm pretty sure he hasn't had a 15 yard celebration penalty this year. I know he's gotten one in the past, but I don't think he's gotten more than 2 or 3. And before you say anything, that's 2 or 3 too many and I agree he's an idiot when he costs his team yards like that, but I don't think he's done that this year. Heck, he's not even celebrated on a few of them.

If he was trying to bring attention to himself he wouldn't be paying for fans via Twitter. He would be posting it all over the internet and asking ESPN to cover it.

Like the above poster mentioned, he simply says, "I'm going here, come show up." Then he'll pay for everyone who shows up.

So no, it isn't for the attention.
