I was bored and reading a Grantland article about Gronkowski. The whole thing was rather poor and pointless. But at the very end the writer throws in the fact that Gronkowski can do what he wants because he's not black.
Just seems like the writer was looking for a reason to play the race card and say white people can do whatever they want. He just had to make up the pretext of having an article about an athlete first.

Article is from Wesley Morris. Is that the same guy as the African American film critic from Boston?
Not long ago "coloreds" still had to sit at the back of the bus. Even a short time before that, they were forced to be named Toby.
Makes sense why white folks are hated and African Americans are allowed to play the race card.

Can we talk about this millenium and not the 1960s?said_aouita;1274746 wrote:Article is from Wesley Morris. Is that the same guy as the African American film critic from Boston?

I read the article yesterday and I didn't think he was talking about race at all. But I do agree it was a rather pointless.

I don't think he was talking about race in the majority of the article. I think he threw it at the very end without much thought and it took it from being a pointless article to a terrible article.Iliketurtles;1274828 wrote:I read the article yesterday and I didn't think he was talking about race at all. You don't believe history has anything to do with why some African Americans don't like whites or are you just ignorant?SportsAndLady;1274820 wrote:What the fuck are you talking about?
Tell that to Wesley Morris. He's the one playing the race card in the article.jmog;1274808 wrote:Can we talk about this millenium and not the 1960s?

Yeah that is true... I just went and read the end again and I agree with you now. I had pretty much given up on the article once I got to the last paragraph yesterday so my mind probably just tuned all the race stuff out.Fly4Fun;1274973 wrote:I don't think he was talking about race in the majority of the article.
