Have a question regarding scoring. I'm in a league on espn, standard scoring rules, never changed anything. Question is, I had the steelers defense tonight. When the jets player muffed a punt return and the steeled rrecovered, does that not count as a fumble recovery? Asking because I'm currently tied in my game this week. Was hoping that would count and give me the win.

I dont think so, because it isnt a fumble recovery. A muffed punt doesnt count as a fumble (or turnover) as the receiving team never had possession of the ball.

Checked this morning. Was awarded two points for a fumble recovery to give me the win.

Ours ruled it as an offensive pass from whatever the holders name is to the slot guy who caught the pass.

It did not go down as a TD for the DST, and by the NFL statistics it should not.

As for the original question, our league scored it as a DFR for the PIT DST. A muffed punt apparently does go as a fumble by official statistics.

Our league is on CBSSports.com, which is the site used to run the NFL.com gametrackers and uses the official statistics for each game. So I would go with any league on cbssports.com when it comes to a scoring question over yahoo or whatever.
