Arroyo keeps it to one run in the 3rd(1-0) as Miami starts the 2nd time thru the line-up with 3 of the top 4 reaching base.

Stubbs in CF and batting 8th. In Dusty's mind I wonder what his greatest reason was. Was it Stubbs' "superior" defense compared to Heisey, or was it that he didn't think Heisey could hit this pitcher?

Please quit gving anxiety ridden Bruce(when he's at the plate) the hit away sign on 3-0 pitches! He swings at a breaking ball out of the zone on 3-0 and then ends up striking out. I think his pitch recognition is as bad as Stubbs, but he has a bit more swing talent!

Wild play in the Marlins 5th with one out and runners on 1st and 2nd results in two runs scoring and the 2nd out. It started with a sharp single to RF by Carlos Lee and went 9-2-4-6-2-1-6. Now 4-0 going to the bottom of the 6th.

I wonder how many assists they gave on the play. There were no errors charged on the play, and surely Lee couldn't have gotten two RBIs, so how do they account for the 2nd run(Reyes) scoring? I assume on the thows from Hanigan to BP at first, and then from BP to WV at 2nd trying to get Lee, who they got anyway going to 2nd after taking a shot at Reyes scoring on the WV throw that glanced off of Hanigan's glove as he tried to glove the short hop at the same time as trying to make the tag on Reyes. It went right to Arrroyo who threw out the "agile" Lee going into 2nd where he hurt himself and went out of the game. That's Lee's 2nd time this year he had to leave a game with the Reds after an awkward move.

That long play would never have happened if a very great double play would have been made on the 2nd batter of the inning who hit a smash line drive up the middle with a runner on first. It deflected off Arroyo's glove to just barely in reach of BP between him and the 2B bag. BP dove and nearly got it, tipping off his glove also. Not too often do you see a batted ball go off of two different fielders' gloves before hitting the grass for a single. I'd say the ball deflected 5-7' closer to BP than if Bronson wouldn't have tipped it with his glove.

Two plays in one inning that you very rarely see!
