I def am not an iPhone fan, but everyone including android has changed their adapters. I have had android phones since the G1 was released and the chargers have changed at least 3 times. These companies want to keep people buying accessories.

This is pretty much the first time the adapter has changed since iPods first came out. Some of the connectors in the 30 pin were obsolete.

Android is just an OS. They don't really control the charger port. And I'm not sure they've changed. The last Blackberry charger cords work in all of our Android phone ports.

Micro-usb has been the standard for a few years.

Yeah apple has used the same adapter since the I pod first came out. I dk why they would change it all of a sudden. I think it's dumb on there part

They had to change it to make more room for hardware changes inside the phone. (ie. bigger battery)
