Don't the AT&T phones do this even when not LTE? Maybe that is the difference.

No. AT&T/Tmo has always been able to do data/calling at the same time. It's in the infrastructure of their network.

Apple cut corners by putting one antenna in their phone as opposed to two. That's how they're getting "8 hours of LTE time"

And Justin: It's not fair to compare a 3 year old android phone to an iPhone. Your EVO gets shit battery because the screen is huge and you're on Sprint. CDMA networks aren't kind to batteries.

I'm with I Wear Pants. There is nothing about the iPhone 5 that is any better than the other iPhones.

If that is the case, then that is totally retarded. Why would they do it for AT&T and not Verizon>?
It still "works" on AT&T, but it drops down to the crappyslow data speed.

Except that it's a bigger screen, lighter, thinner, and has LTE.

Also, I never once used data while talking on my iPhone when I was on AT&T. The fact that I won't be able to on Verizon means nothing to me.

Bigger screens are overrated, it's marginally lighter/thinner, and LTE isn't all it's made out to be.

I should have said "The additional features in the iP5 aren't worth choosing it over an iP4s

Not a big deal for personal use. But it can be for business use when you want to use it as a hot spot.

Well, when you don't currently have an iPhone why would you get the year old version? Btw, my wife is getting the 4S because she doesn't give a shit, she just hates her htc hero.

Cheaper. You could sit around and wait for the next one which hopefully turns more heads than this one.

$100. Big whoop. And I don't want to wait around. I would've been fine with the 4S last year but still had a year left on our contract. I was mainly hoping for a new form factor and LTE. Got both.

Shopping around? I had an iphone 3g, I liked it but decide to switch to android just for a change. Well, I hate android. How did I not shop around when I had an android phone for 2 years?

Because you were under contract. Nobody looks for phones until their contract is nearly up. You started bitching about your EVO over a year ago, and started droning on about the iPhone. Did you even LOOK at any of the other phones on the market? So what you hate Android, it's been two (three?) years. The Razr Maxx and the Samsung Galaxy III are both awesome phones. The Lumia is even cool. Did you even give any of those the light of the day?

No. Because you already pre-determined that the iPhone was the best several years ago.

People that hold others phone choices against them are ridiculous. It's a phone. I could give two shits what phone anyone else prefers, I certainly don't use my phone of choice to back some sort of superiority complex. It's such an insignificant thing, why the hostility?

Your basis of "preferring" is flawed.

It's like saying "I like my 2012 Toyota Camry more than my old ancient 2010 Honda Civic" when you haven't even test drove a 2012 Civic.

Because Apple is flourishing off of (stupid) people who are making blind decision like you are.

The Evo is running 2.3 (Gingerbread). That OS is several years old. You might as well be running iOS 3.
