Ya all do realize it all has to do with contracts the NFL has signed dont ya? It isnt anything to do with being a no fun league or killjoy's. Captain Morgan can pony up the cash if they want to officially be the sponsor.
Same reason the coaches/players can only wear certain apparrel when making official appearances. Same erason why there is a gatorade jugs on the sidelines and some team not having powerade or whatever....they pay heavy fees for the sponsorship.
Yeah..the Capt morgan was gonna donate $$ to a charity....but the companies that fork out HUGE dollars to officially be a part of the NFL are protected and assured that other like products wont be able to be associated with the game and league.
I know when I worked for a company that was an official olympic sponsor we got word of some of the guidelines. Other companies werent allowed, and got fined, if they insinuated they were an official partner/sponsor. Their adds could only go so far in showing/insinuating olympic games.
