It was a little out of the way, but I think they were really trying to show how out of control Gemma has been and how hard Jax has been on her. Add in the Nero stuff and they were able to tie all three things together with that one storyline. I think one of these times the club is going to think he's involved with something he's not and do away with him. I don't know, just seems like he's always doing something behind the clubs back and it's eventually going to catch up to him.
